Together with David, Hamed and Joakim. - We are doing something that is rarely done. So much presentations! - We are going to use ~~Zoom~~ **UPDATE we will use Discord** for the presentations. Please use a proper setup if possible. - You will need a webcam. - I want you to be SEEN. That is, show yourself. Its never fun to watch a screen full of black boxes. This is about respecting the time for everyone, and especially for those presenting. It's really valuable to see the persons that you are talking to. So I can't stress this enough **we want you to have working video**. - Please join in and listen, even though it's not your slot. Everyone is welcome. - We will be keeping tabs on those that are there. You are _required_ to be there for the full session. - You will need to write some comment on each and everyone that has done a presentation. That is - you will _need_ to write something. Some interaction is needed. - Keep them short. 10 min. Timing is everything. - You don't need to do a PP - it's fine if you just talk and show your report as the presentation. The important thing here is that you showcase what you've done - preferably by filming your gadget and project. Show it to us! - If it is not possible with proposed times - please let us know and we will try to accomodate. - Higher grade presentations end of week. - These are getting slighly more time. - We are expecting more of the higher grade presentations. - Please keep them entertaining. Preferably not just a PP-presentation and a talking head. Creativity is good here. Think of it as you want to showcase your passion for what you have done. Let the fun and excitement shine through. The best way of demonstrating what you've done is to make it fun for someone to watch. We've seen examples of students doing live demos in barns with animals, robo vacuum cleaners, music demonstrations etc. The point here is that try not to make to formal - make it fun and use your creativity. - You are free to structure the time in any way you want. - Peer reviews - Starts Tuesday midnight, just after the final submission. You will have the week to finish these. - Peer reviews are _required_. That means, you will need to finish them. - Essentially the peer reviews are you checking three other students reports according to them following the template. You are giving them points on in the format of "check-list". Very straight forward. - The report needs to be done when you hand in your report. BUT you can continue working on it until last deadline end of week. - Be helpful. This is not about making others look bad. We are helping each other to success. If you find something that is not right - tell your fellow student on how they should make it better. In this case, maybe wait a until they fix and then do the peer review again. - It's not easy to change the peer review. So please - make sure that you communicate with your fellow peer before "submitting" your review (if needed). That is, if you think the report is crappy and lots of things are missing - don't just give a way a crappy point - communicate with the student and give them time to fix. Then you check and give the review. - Quizzes should be done by now. If you haven't please do them ASAP. - Some people might have been kicked out of the system if you haven't been active on either platform (quiz or onboarding in Discord). If that happens reach out to anki.lektorp@lnu.se (she is a student administrator) and she can help you. She's working next week. - Fredrik will be travelling next week, so unfortunately missing most of the presentations. If you want I encourage you (especially the higher grade projects) to add a video in your final report. Just embed a YT-link of you showcasing the project. - A test of the Ellie bot. Try it out if you want and give some feedback. Based on GPT-4 so it can be expensive - don't spam it. :) https://udify.app/chat/q4mH2D9pk1JdcKhT ## Final Vblog - week 5 - Confusion about hand-ins and final submissions. - Only one report (which is also called tutorial). - You own the link. That is, you only hand it in once. - Work on this until deadline. - Peer reviewing. - Canvas is not perfect. We know. - You need to follow the link. Just reading the snapshot in Canvas might be leading to faulty conclusions (old, or not displayed in full). - Peer review is NOT the grade. Don't worry! You could either get no reviews (which would be unfair), or low points and still pass. We will be looking over these anyhow, the peer-review is there for making it better. But - if you've gotten scores under 22 ... perhaps a good idea to go through your report ... - Late peer review. - Next week will be vacation mode :sunglasses:. Apart from some grading being done obviously. - There won't be time to facilitate any more peer reviews or late hand-ins. - A middle way -> We have extended the peer review deadline until Monday. - That essentially means. If you haven't done your peer review Monday midnight. You won't be graded. - Retakes in late August * Date will be announced later on (needs to be aligned with schedules) * Don't be afraid to ask questions even during summer, even though the activity will be lower - 187 students presented this week - This was a journey. It's fantastic to see that this was done, so many projects in so little time. Great! - A lot of fantastic projects was demonstrated. Many of these will end up in the Hall of Fame! - Discord was perhaps not the best video conferencing tool. Some bugs experienced, but it seems to have worked out pretty well overall despite this. - - Ideas for the future - We'll do this couse next year as well. And, if you would like to sign up for a TA position, **keep your eyes open in the Discord** server as I will announce this when we start recruiting. - A course in Disruptive Technologies. We'll start to plan this ... - More courses - on demand? We have a community of great people, why not crowd source the courses we which would have existed? Some ideas ... LLM and AI-agents, let's discuss this in the Discord. - The course has just formally ended now. But we are still in the community. Please stay and continue to contribute. We might expand this server to more courses ahead, but please keep it going. Continute to share your projects. - Course feedback. If you are able to give this in the ´#course-feedback channel´ that is great, as we all can see. But you also have an option of giving anonomous feedback via the course survey that is sent out to your LNU address. Please fill that in as well (I know, there are also many surveys). I would think putting your honest view in the Discord channel is what matters most if you're going to choose one, but it's good that we get answers on the formal LNU also. - Discord statistics - Messages ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/HyLil38th.png) Members ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/HySFTsLFh.png) Channels ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/r1Y3TsLF2.png) - Voice ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/Bk3ybnIY2.png) Members ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/H13kAjUt3.png) Channels ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/H12lAjUYh.png)
