# Howizter - Howie's 5e Saturday - Log

Session 1 - 31/07/2021

Jade Eye James is in **Port Meade** to try and get himself another boat.
Tenebrae is in the port city to deliver a package.
Pops has gotten dissaolusioned with his swamp life and wanted to go to the nearest city.
El'Lynn has a buyer for some Sense Stones and has Tiktak tagging along with him.

The city of **Port Meade** is overflowing with bountiful catch and people coming to look for work.
It's full of tent cities and shacks.
An Inn has six rooms available, not of the best quality.
Tenebrae takes a room.
Pops and sp'Lat take two rooms.
El'Lynn and Tiktak take separate rooms as well.
_(2sp per night, 3sp includes a meal | 5cp per mug of ale)_.

A grouchy old man with a dirty rag cleaning mugs seems to run this place.
*Bali's Arsenal* (the tavern) is empty as the party arrives and those with rooms settle in.
Pops pays with old gold coin, and asks if they have Grits, but is told they have fish, bread, and ale with milk arriving in the morning.
James tries to swindle sailors out of their half-drunk ale by swapping glasses as they chat. He gets away with it once but is less successful on his fourth attempt and gets caught, so he plays it off as drunk.
Tenebrae tries to busk to pay for her night, but the bartender offers 1sp if it's good instead.
El'Lynn says good playing will bring customers, but the bartender calls out that there's no room.
Jade Eye James hands Tenebrae 1gp to play.
She swipes a beer from the bar, sits on the corner of the bar, and then sings some sea shanties.
She starts off a little rocky, and then suddenly sp'Lat hops out from under a table and starts to play along with his Whistle-Stick and she gets into it better.
Mid performance, Pops walks over and talks to sp'Lat as he hops around playing, saying there's so much sin it's good to hear music.
With the patrons distracted, James swipes 4cp from one pocket, 5cp from the next, and he keeps going.

Pops spots some people gathering at the door and lets sp'Lat know.
El'Lynn, sp'Lat and Tiktak spot a line of guys at the door.
Tiktak gives El'Lynn a thumbs up and goes back upstairs.
The tavern is still packed as the music is played, but there is a line of people between the crowd and the door.
After spotting the group El'Lynn asks the bartender what is happening by the door but the barkeep cannot see them.
Eventually Tenebrae spots the group that sp'Lat is looking at and she calls out for someone to get them a drink as they are not participating.
As the crowd turns, the guys pull out wooden cudgels and one steps out from the crowd, and thanks Tenebrae for ruining the surprise.
These robbers ask for people to turn over their coin. El'Lynn walks up half way and fires a Fire-Bolt at the speaker.
With the action starting, Tenebrae keeps playing.

The leader looks at the hole in his shirt and they start tossing daggers at El'Lynn.
Tenebrae uses a Color Spray, blinding the commoners in front of her.
Pops says they are being robbed so it's best him and sp'Lat put their hands up. sp'Lat says "no" then hops back to the top of a table and lobs a Dart into one of the guys.
Tiktak fires a Fire-Bolt from the stairs to get El'Lynn clear, and then El'Lynn drops an Acid Splash.
While trying to retrieve his dagger, Pops is shaky and drops it. He instead grabs his coin-purse and starts to walk to the robbers.
James uses the distraction to steal some more, as the leader leaves, asking his men to keep getting the money and to bring it to the boat.
The drunk fishermen are fighting back, but losing hard as they are drunk and unarmed.
Seeing this, the Bartender pulls a warhammer from a shelf, sets it on the floor and leads the handle on the bar.
Tenebrae yells to Pops trying to inspire him to fight back, but then just stares at the floor warhammer.
With another hop, sp'Lat jumps forward and lands on the table next to James, then lobs a dart into a robber, knocking him out.
A firebolt from Tiktak is lobbed over sp'Lat's shoulder ending another. El'Lynn fires a slightly less powerful bolt as well, and chars one.
The inspiration seems to work, so Pops looks around the room, puts his purse away, and pushes his way to the front, casting Thunderclap while inspired and knocks everyone around him out, 3 robbers and a few patrons. Tiktak yells, "He's Packing!".
Still abusing the distraction, James keeps robbing the patrons.
The robbers who are still standing take off running.

Tiktak runs back upstairs, and Pops starts trying to treat the fallen patrons.
James pretends he was useful and chases them to the door yelling for them to leave.
The robbers head out to the left, yelling "back to the ship".
As the fight ends, Tenebrae's blinded patrons blink and are able to see again.
Pops talks to the Sorcerer, El'Lynn, and says points out he nearly gave out his bag of coins. He holds up the bag, turns it around, and it says "Bad Motherfucker" on it. "I should have listened to this side" he says.
El'Lynn starts looting.
The bartender seems angry about his customers being run off as he shelves his hammer.
Pops says the bar should have advertised the music for more customers and the Bartender retorts than they killed 8 of his customers, they shouldn't be there when the guard arrives.

James follows them south to a small dock and board a 2-masted schooner, where they board. He feels there would be six to eight crew on this boat, but there was at least 10 in the bar and 5 of them dead now.
They douse the lanterns and keep the ship dark.
After seeing this James heads back to the bar.

Tiktak disguises himself as a gnome and heads out his room's window, spotting James leave and return.
He waits outside casing the place from the distance waiting for El'Lynn.
The bartender is convinced that Pops killed his patrons.
James asks who wants to continue the fight, and sp'Lat asks what he means. There are some communication issues so Pops interprets.
It seems James wants them strung up and after chatting with Tenebrae he seems to know where the robbers went to.
As people seem slow to respond James introduces himself, and Tenebrae fixes her robes, displaying a signet ring.
Pops asks James why he is called "Jade Eye" and introduces himself. Apparently when James was born his eyes look like Jade, since he has green Eyes.
sp'Lat is introduced, but speaks random Grung back, then holds out a parchment with "Lick Me", and Tenebrae sniffs him confused.
Pops runs off, grabs water, and douses the Grung who croaks back that he wanted James to lick him.
After that Pops points out there was some scaly creature but nobody else really saw it.
El'Lynn grabs his gear overhearing this and heads to Tiktak's room to find it empty and without Tiktak's gear.
He asks after Tiktak and Pops told him he went upstairs, so El'Lynn heads outside and looks around, telling the party inside he'll be right back.
Tiktak the "Gnome" is spotted and he walks over. Tiktak points out the murders. He thinks the area is too hot. El'Lynn seems confused about the term hot and Tiktak seems afraid of prison.
Apparently Tiktak wants to get involved if they get a boat out of it. Tiktak runs back into the bar, points to James and tells him to do it quick since the guards are probably coming.
Tenebrae is in as she is bored, but wants treasure mainly.
Tiktak talks to El'Lynn about some rocks, and then gets given a "Stinky Rock". He activates it and leaves it by the entrance to deter anyone investigating the crime scene.

As they group heads out, Pops asks Tenebrae how she plays with claws and she explains it actually helps pluck independant strings. She notes she's not great with drums though.
Pops explains how he can speak Grung to Tenebrae.
Tiktak takes a sample from sp'Lat.

The boat is reached (200ft away), and there are some guys around on the deck surrounding the leader.
Tiktak says when they get on the ship, to drop the gangplank down.
James thinks all hands are on deck, and then tells not to use his Thunder as there are no witnesses to say we aren't murderers.

Two Fire-Bolts are thrown by El'Lynn and Tiktak, with Tiktak missing and the other hitting the Leader in the chest.
These bandits have scimitars and crossbows now, so Pops grabs his dagger and starts walking over, using an cudgel given to him by Jade Eye as a cane.
Two more Fire-Bolts land both hitting this time, the leader drops after the second lands square on his forehead.
Tiktak says "we'll murder the rest of you if you don't surrender", and then Tenebrae moves near Pops and calls one of the robbers a "Slimy Clam", mocking him.
Pops exclaims to sp'Lat that he's been hit and then tosses a dagger at one, missing completely.
Tenebrae insults the same man again, saying, "you are a crusty toenail, like a fungus one", killing him.
A slash from James lands and sp'Lat hops in front of Pops to save him, missing a dart "cast".
They move in and attack James and sp'Lat, so El'Lynn lobs a Fire-Bolt at one, scortching him.
Tiktak tries the same trick, but misses with his Fire-Bolt gun.
Another insult about sticky floors blows the mind of another pirate.
With another "cast" of a dart, sp'Lat drops
Pops readies his crossbow and shoots to save James some blood, landing true and finishing the last pirate.

Tiktak tries to haul the gangplank up, but he cannot budge it without help (which is eventually given by Tenebrae, sp'Lat, and Pops). Pops is healed with a injected potion from Tiktak and his crossbow boat pops out.
El'Lynn starts stripping and tossing the bodies overboard, after slitting the throat of each.
Tenebrae heads below deck (half cargo toward the bow then 3 cabins and a captain's cabin at the rear) as James ready to set sail.
The Tabaxi claims the Captain's cabin and starts scrounging and then naps on the big bed.
There appear to be sharks in the water nearing the bodies and Tiktak drags sp'Lat back up and lets him know. The bilge is offered as an alternative source of water.

The main sail has a tear, which is why they were in town it seems.
Despite this, James manages to navigate his way out into the water, seeing guards near the bar and heading to the back harbour.

James heads to the Captain's Quarters and sneaks in to look for maps. Tenebrae hears the door open and awakes to Jade Eye setting up to navigate.
Tenebrae asks about how it works and what the tools are for and chats with James for a bit.
She continues to watch how navigating works as James narrates.
The party heads to a nearby fishing village south west of Kohrville.
The ship has a few signal flags and a Jolly Roger, but no regular flag is up.
Tiktak takes inventory of the boat, and it's current name is **The Proteus**.
The boat is renamed **"The Gushing Granny"**.

Tiktak introduces himself and sp'Lat calls him weird.

Eventually the ship ands at the fishing village.

Session 2 - 21/08/2021
-----------------------

The fishing village is named **Lullin**.

Jade Eye James is dropping the party off in Lullin and taking the boat to get a crew.
As we arrive there's a person standing on the docks, 5'8" with black hair, human.
The party is dropped off by James and he takes off.
This man on the dock says hello, and notes a festival in the middle of the town, celebrating "the seasons". He says his name is Ziggy.
sp'Lat holds up a sign saying "Lick Me" as Tenebrae shakes hands with Ziggy.
Apparently everyone in the town is at the festival.

Eventually the party decides to follow.
As they follow Ziggy, a warhammer smashes from around a blind corner, hitting him and knocking him out.
Walking with the hammer, is a Goliath, who says "it isn't what it looks like". He explains there are deserters here, and no festival.
Tenebrae says the man is still alive.
The clothes of the man are unwashed, but not a given colours. This could be a uniform.
Pops tries to cast Cure Wounds, seemingly unsure of if he is using his hands properly.
The man gets up on the ground. The Goliath calls him a bad man and tries to hit him again. Tenebrae stops him and says to interrogate him.
Pops asks if Ziggy cheated on the Goliath, but the Goliath says he wasn't playing a game.
Ziggy refuses to speak.
Tenebrae motions for sp'Lat to help take care of Pops, and he instead jumps onto Ziggy, attempts to intimidate him in Grung.
The Goliath is introduced as Orvarr "Sigmund" as Tenebrae pulls sp'Lat off. Suddenly she speaks to sp'Lat in Grung and seems to be charmed by him.

As the party continues, Sigmund is confused by the frog noises from Pops, sp'Lat, and Tenebrae.
A minute later of travel, Tenebrae confronts sp'Lat about what happened, and then licks the poison off her paws, but it does nothing.
Eli appears to be looking into a house and he's gone in through the door to look. Pops asks, but it appears nobody is here.
Sigmund asks if they went willingly, but Eli doesn't know. Eli says they may have been "ensorcelled", but the party doesn't really know what that means.
Pops talks about going to the church to see if there is anything there, so the party heads out.
sp'Lat jumps onto the roof, but spots nothing. Pops tries to follow, but cannot, so Sigmund puts him on the room, out of breath.
Inside Eli goes through doors hanging on their hinges. He heads up to the bell tower, where the bell is missing.
Nothing shows where the bell would have dropped, but the rope is cut. Smoke is off to the East quite far away.
Pops is grabbed back off the roof and sounds exhausted.
Eli notes something seemed odd about the alter, so he goes and looks at it. Where there should be ornamentation and idolry of the gods, but there is nothing here. Bare spots on the wall show the church was stripped.
The doors inside are also busted.
This is relayed to the party by Eli, and Sigmund seems to be offended by this desecration. sp'Lat asks if they stole god, but is told they didn't do so.

As the party decides to head out Tenebrae talks about gathering supplies and food. Pops offers cat food and a bowl.
sp'Lat hops over, takes the bowl, then spits all in the bowl and slowly eats it up.
Sigmund offers Tenebrae some "Mountain Cheese" off some horrible moldy block, but she ignores him, looks at the party, sighs, and leaves back into the town.
sp'Lat tosses the bowl at Pops as he cracks cat jokes not paying attention. It hits him and he puts it away.
As Tenebrae storms back into town, Sigmund tries to sneak the piece of cheese in her bag, but fails as she notices his hand at end. The cheese lands in the bag though.
Pops asks Tenebrae to slow down. She eventually find a Butcher with a smell of rotting meat. Sigmund runs in thinking it has good cheese from the smell, but it was bad.
It seems the ice melted here and the carcasses are rotten, and Tenebrae seems shocked with watering eyes from the smell alone.
Orvarr looks around for more mountain cheese and eventually finds some that has been on a cutting block for a week, exclaiming he found more.
As the party debates what to do sp'Lat runs off.
15 minutes later sp'Lat returns with Ziggy's foot and lower leg and starts munching on it raw. He offers it to Tenebrae and Pops but it is refused.
Tenebrae eventually finds some bread and salt meat.

Movement out of town happens again as the party checks houses. It seems the houses on the outskirts were tossed and there are tracks of many people heading into the woods.
Pops notices a something darting around in the woods and tells sp'Lat, who looks and sees a human following non-chalantly around 500ft away. His response is just a shrug.
Eventually Pops keeps saying it and goes to Tenebrae saying he's not crazy, so the others turn around and look, seeing the man following.
This information is then spread to Sigmund who uses Thaumaturgy to yell "Friend!" at the man.
This man does a half bow and keeps walking towards the party.
It sounds like everyone nearby probably heard that. Pops gets some mountain cheese, but he finds it quite good and thanks Sigmund.
This seems to upset Pops' stomach though and he hobbles off with his cane.

The stranger is a young human in well maintained traveller's clothes.
As Orvarr heads towards this stranger, someone yells "put your hands up" and three men are spotted in the trees with scimitars.
Pops puts his hands up and asks them not to hurt him.
This stranger puts one to sleep and shakes Sigmund's hand and says "friend" back, so Sigmund repeats and asks the man's name.
Augustus introduces himself as the combat starts.
Tenebrae inspires the new friend. sp'Lat hops on the first and kills him with a dart, then Orvarr uses a Guiding bolt to kill the other.
With a Fire-Bolt, Eli wakes the other and sp'Lat tries to intimidate the man, and fails.
Sigmund tries the same and calls with Thaumaturgy for the man to surrender and the last man goes to run.
sp'Lat attacks as the man leaves, killing him instantly.
At the corpse of the man he killed Sigmund says a pray and starts to loot the corpse.
Tenebrae starts singing about dirty clerics who are hippocrates.

Augustus licks sp'Lat and is asked if he is here to take slaves, which he is not.
Orvarr tries to sneak more cheese into the cat's bag, and she spots him and asks "what stinks more, the cheese or him?" and tells him to stay away. He seems completely unhurt by this, other than his feelings.
sp'Lat picks up the two Scimitars as well as the 2 light crossbows and offers them up to Sigmund, then Augustus, and finally Tenebrae who takes it.
The grung writes "Stay Away" in his gold slime, and then Eli puts some dirt on it to make it stick.
Another leg is taken with a scimitar in front of the now horrified Goliath cleric.
Pops ask Augustus his name and gets a blank stare back. He eventually steps away.

As the party starts travelling again, sp'Lat starts playing his Whistle-Stick as they go, and Tenebrae seems excited to hear music.
Ten minutes later axes thudding into trees can be heard and fire can be smelled.
Eli thinks it is a work camp.
There are bandits and Goblins here, with peasants doing all the work.
Immediately the fight is started with Eli launching a Fire-Bolt at a deserter, followed by Augustus putting 2 peasants to sleep along with the Goblin near them.
Pops moves up to the sleeping Goblin and tells him to put his hands up this time.
Tenebrae inspires sp'lat as the commoners start to run, and the grung hops over and his inspired dart just hits, killing the Deserter.
Orvarr uses his Thaumaturgy to call for the peasants to take up arms as the party is there to help.
Pops gets shot, but it misses. sp'Lat takes a glancing shot from a crossbow as well.
A solid blow from a Scimitar lands on Pops after, wounding him well. In the confusion he Thunderclaps again and kills both the Deserter and a peasant.
With a poor insult about a tent, Tenebrae fails to mock a goblin.
The peasants seem to react to Sigmund's words and start clubbing those who attacked them with axe handles, starting with Pops then the Goblins.
An Ice Knife from Augustus lands on a Deserter, ending him.
sp'Lat throws a knife right through the neck of one of the Goblins, ending it instantly.
Eli hurts another with a Fire-Bolt, charring a goblin.
Pops tries to save the peasant he clapped, but they are dead.
Sigmund calls out saying the old man is here to help.
The last wake goblin is ended, and the peasants want Pops to stand trial for the murder of Bob.
Eli roasts the 3 that were attacking Pops with Burning hands as sp'Lat ties up the sleeping Goblin.
The peasants yell "they killed them all" and start to run away.

Eli calls for Sigmund to help Pops as he is near dead, and the cleric says they committed genocide. Pops says he moved his hands wrong and sneezed, and it was an accident. Eli roasting the commoners seems to be the worst of it, but Sigmund convinces himself it is wrong.
The peasants killed by Goblins and Pops are buried by Eli, the other 3 are left.
Sigmund agrees to heal Pops if he doesn't do it again.

The party takes a short rest with Pops and sp'Lat licking their wounds. sp'Lat loots, Tenebrae grabs grub and naps, and the rest wait.
After that they leave with sp'Lat's new pet and eventually find a place where wood is burning.
There is a ship being built here and that's likely where the lieutentant is according to the Goblin.
Here there are many deserters, a few goblins, more peasants chained together and sitting, and a humanoid bird person chatting with some important looking man.
Near the boat is a large material of some sort.
The important man has a book and the bird-person has a glowing blue stone.

sp'Lat runs and leaps up onto the roof of one of the buildings. Tenebrae follows and muscles up onto the roof as well.
Pops walks up and says he is there in peace to negotiate the release of the prisoners.
They command Pops to his knees but he says he has bad knees.
And elbow hits Augustus's side as Sigmund asks if he wants on the roof too. Sigmund lifts Augustus up to Tenebrae and sp'Lat's position.
Pops gets immediately swung on by Goblins and sp'Lat shoots the apparent leader.
Eli launcher a Fire-Bolt as Pops emits a massive Thunderwave, killing a few Goblins, as well as another peasant. The bodies and a few deserts are launched 10ft away.
Chains, a corpse and some peasants all end up in a mass as they are tossed back with their dead friends.
The bird-person takes the blue rock he was about to hand off back, and flies off.
Tenebrae yells to one of the Deserters that he "got his cheeks clapped by an old man" and kills him with her Mockery.
The frail old man that is Pops is hoisted to the rooftop by Sigmund.
A Ray of Frost leaps from Augustus's hand and hits the boss-man, but it seems to glance off his armour.
Eli is left alone on the battlefield, so sp'Lat hops down, hitting the boss again with a poison dart.
The Bandit Captain comes in and tosses 2 daggers at Eli, sticking one.
Tenebrae tells a joke to the boss but it just barely doesn't land and one small cricket can be heard off in the distance.
Eli roasts the bandit leader and one of his men, then seems to draw some power and look like he has more energy.
With a large sprint, Orvarr heads to where he can see this deserter leader casting Sacred Flame on him, but he dodges it.
Another Ray of Frost from Augustus hits the bandit leader, making him slower but not hurting him much.
Pops climbs all the way back down as Eli gets hit with a dagger and drops.
Tenebrae calls the bandit a walrus and this somehow mocks him and hurts him.
Orvarr runs over and Spares Eli from death.
sp'Lat throws a dart into the leader, nearly killing him, then surges and throws another, ending the leader.
The last 2 bandits lay down their arms after watching their captain fall.
Orvarr finishes off the one that downed Eli with his warhammer.

Session 3 - 28/08/2021
-----------------------

People start to run as Pops tries to stabilize the peasant he killed. They are quite organ explodey and not coming back.
Sigmund and Pops try to explain that the murder was accidental. They want him up on charges for manslaughter.
They argue with Sigmund about the sheriff and legality for a while.
Apparently the guardsmen were killed and the sheriff ran off for backup. As Sigmund argues, Augustus cuts in.
These peasants want to be released and the key hasn't been found yet. Sigmund pulls and miraculously snaps a manacle free with his bare hands.
One peasant is freed and runs to Augustus as he feels he is the safest.
Splat offers up a piton and puts it in a chain link, trying to get Sigmund to hit it by demonstrating with a leg.
After stomping it, Sigmund figures out to hit it with his warhammer and gets one free.
With his hands on the Lieutenant's boot, Augustus finds the key and starts to unlock the rest of the manacles.
While Augustus unlocks the rest, Sigmund piles the bodies on the now out campfire, and then prays for them. He tries a sacred flame, and then realizes it isn't fire.
Eventually Augustus drags the peasant out and burns the rest with Fire-Bolt, offering the corpse up to these commoners for them to bury.
Sigmund offers to carry, but they will do it. Frank who died had a family. Apparently he has a wife and two kids south of here in the woodcutting camp (where Eli murdered 3 and Pops killed 1).

The party goes around a bit trying to figure out the next step. The ship is apparently to be an airship and it's missing a magicite stone to make it float and a propeller to move it.
Augustus feels the large canvas bag was supposed to be some hot air baloon to float it for now.
Pops mentions a bird person with a glowing blue rock who flew away.
Augustus and Eli think this was magicite that was being sold for this airship. It's typically mined in the mountain just north of Arturius Pass and Sigmund recognizes this from near his village.
Pops remembers it was an Aarakocra.
After a long chat, the party decides to move north to see if they can find more of the magicite supplying.

Sigmund reveals that he is a cook, and asks if anyone has meat on them.
sp'Lat kills a rabbit, and Sigmund fails to hunt a deer, then the party sleeps as sp'Lat chews on the raw rabbit.

In the morning a Troll wanders up saying to give food, stomping towards the party.
Sigmund tosses some mountain cheese to it and it eats it, asking for more.
Pops convinces it that south there is a pile of food, the bodies from the day previous.

As the party continues down the road, they run into a pile of eviscerated critters. sp'Lat tastes it and it seems fresh.
Eli walks off the road, falling in a pit four feet down as one opens on each side of the road.
A creature like a bird, lizard, and bat combined comes out of the hole followed by a friend on each side. Augustus knows these are Baby Tarrasques and yells it out.
Sigmund starts off with a strong guilding bolt into one, bloodying it.
Augustus tosses a Lightning filled Chromatic Orb at one of these creatures, hurting it a bit.
With a surge of fur, Pops turns into a Dire Wolf and bites at one of these creatures, but misses.
sp'Lat hops in and misses his dart, and then all the creatures start biting with sharp beaks.
Eli appears to be unnoticed in the pit with the creatures above it, so he Fire-Bolts one of them.
Flashes happen as Augustus follows up with another Fire-Bolt as Sigmund misses with his Warhammer.
The wolfier Pops is a Good Boy and rips a chunk out of one of the beasts, and sp'Lat gets a dart in.
Both Pops and Sigmund get bit and start to freeze up as if starting to be petrified.
Fire errupts from Eli's finger tips as his burning hands char the beast right in front of sp'Lat.
A restrained Sigmund smashes one of these creatures, then turns to stone completely with all of this gear like a perfect statue.
Augustus realizes that these monsters are Cockatrice and he will unpetrify after 24 hours. He then finishes off another with a Fire-Bolt.
The Dire Pops chomps more off and frees himself from the petrification.
sp'Lat ends the one in front of him with his Scimitar, then surges and throws his magical dart at the last one, killing it as well as it succumbs to the poison.

Session 4 - 11/09/2021

sp'Lat takes perch on top of the stone Sigmund as Pops tries to move the statue and fails.
Tenebrae finally makes an appearance, returning Sigmund's mountain cheese to him. Pops thinks this might heal him, but it does not.
Eli fills Tenebrae in on the rest. The mountains can be reached in 45 minutes or so says the party.
Tenebrae and Eli go berry hunting. Eli to eat, Tenebrae to colour on Sigmund with, along with using the mountain cheese.
After some rest, it appears vermin were through camp for the cheese. Six hours remain on Sigmund slumber though.
In the next afternoon, Sigmund wakes up and immediately falls over, sticky, covered in slime and cheese.
Not wanting to leave yet, Sigmund protests but Eli won't let him, saying he's waited long enough.

sp'Lat, Sigmund, and Eli, hear hoofbeats from a horse coming up the road from the port. Most of the party moves off the road, except sp'Lat who sits on it and plays his Whistle-Stick.
It's a party, and Pops explains the party came from the port town as something ran all the people off.
They seem to be prodding for info and perk up when the boat is mentioned. Sigmund says he's from the mountain village and walked here.
Three guards fall asleep (done by Augustus) and one yells, drawing blade as well as the knight.
Apparently they are here to get some band that pretended to save people and killed them instead. Nobody had been seen on this road in three days.
Augustus points out that Pops is the murderer and that he killed many people. He says he's been blackmailed and had no control.
**Father Cleger** back in town will get it figured out apparently and the party is told to follow. Eli Mind Whips the knight, but it doesn't do much.
The guards are told to detain Eli (who the knight heard casting somehow, from 60ft away) and Pops, but neither resist.
Augustus is escorted as well (for his sleep spell), but he wasn't violent and gave up Pops.
**Baron Xion** is the knight's name. Sigmund keeps trying to introduce himself, but is ignored.

(sp'Lat sees a Dire Wolf and Wolf cross the road North, with more wolves on each side, following the group in some formation).
sp'Lat starts to play more dog-whistle tones, and keeping playing the Whistle-Stick the entire time.

While not detained, the others follow, with Tenebrae decided to follow from a distance and Sigmund taking note of her coming and joining the group.
Driven through the night the town is met. It seems more full now and the Church is now a holding cell. There are deserters and goblins locked up and people in the streets.
The three free will be told to defend or denounce their jailed members.
The Baron rides off and 8 wolves with 3 dire wolves head with him, following him into town.
During the day, villagers are brought into the jail, pointing at people and writing it down. Nine people point to Pops and two to both Pops and Eli.
Some of those seen don't come forward. Sigmund doesn't seem to like the church being turned into a jail.
Tenebrae goes to talk to the guards, but ends up just sitting near them with Sigmund as it gets late.
sp'Lat gains 12cp from playing.
Tenebrae calls Sigmund and sp'Lat over. She wants to take out a guard, get Sigmund to wear the uniform, sp'Lat distract. Get a fake prisoner.
sp'Lat holds his small extra shirt up to Tenebrae to make a real comparison.
After some annoyance, Tenebrae licks sp'Lat and they start laying out a plan, with the Grung saying for her to defender them.
Eventually Sigmund gets bored and licks sp'Lat too.
Tenebrae lets loose about the bar fight in confusion of the murders and she can't keep track. Sigmund keeps asking and they talk around it.
Eventually the Goliath looks aside and then magically commands her with "Truth". She tells him she doesn't know how many but what happens but that Pops is sore about it.
Not realizing a spell was cast, sp'Lat throws a note to Sigmund as he walks away to sulk, with the number 8 on it.
They decide to go with sp'Lat's defense of Pops having an accidental misfire and Eli trying to cauterize the wound and failing.

Sigmund walks to the guards asking for the Priest and to talk to his friends. He is denied the latter, but given the location of the Baron's house to find the Father.
He tells the others that he doesn't agree with the actions but the heart's were in the right place, and to talk to the Baron.
sp'Lat wanders off to the river, ties the Goblin to a tree and hangs in the water to sleep.
Sigmund stays at the Church having a breakdown about 8 dead in a barfight.
Tenebrae breaks into a house and pretties up.

The next morning Pops showers in his cell with Create Water. Sigmund hears boots arrive and men march up and leave with 10 people. Sigmund is told they are going to be executed. The Trials were in secret last night, and the party not included because they aren't there. The guard reveals he is joking and this is the trial and is rewarded with some cheese.
Sigmund finds sp'Lat and thinks he is being drowned before the Grung hops out.
Tenebrae awakes from her beauty sleep B&E and spots the other two at the river.
Sigmund calls the guard his friend and updates the others to the trials.
2 people return to jail later and another 10 leave, none of the party. Three goblins and the three of the paty are left in jail.
3 people are put back in jail when the guards come back.
Eventually the last 6 are taken and marched. The Goblins are lead off. A row of used gillotines are here, 15 heads in a basket.
A block later there is a stage, the Baron, a Cleric, and 2 finely dressed men on chairs, are on it with a podium and guards.
The three and lead forward, with Augustus pointed to.

Augustus is accused of performing hostile magic on the Baron's guard. He responds he felt threatened as the Baron looked hostile and unannounced. He pleas guilty though and the spell of no harm is mentioned. The Baron says he did turn himself in. **Augustus is fined 500gp and given a 90-day probation. He asks for 1000gp and no probation and it is accepted.**
Pops approaches the podium with his cudgel as a cane. He gives his full name as "Sir Pip Tinagel" and states he's a retired royal knight of Ophellia.
The baron cuts him off. Apparently there are 12 counts of first-degree murder attributed to him and Pops pleads not guilty.
Being attacked without provocation is noted, then when defending himself the people attacked him. Pops states they must have been working with the captors and Eli helped when Pops was laying down getting beaten.
The "first accuser" is called up to the platform. The peasant talks about logging for the bandits and how horrid their treament was (being touched, licked, kicked, sticked, all that).
Bandit heads exploding and thoughts of freedom start it off and giant talking frogs. The peasant thinks Pops killed the peasant was killed for not fighting well so they started beating on Pops to save himself. Eli tells them to stop, and "Bill" said to handcuff him, then Eli set him on fire along with 2 others. This accuser ran.
The second accuser talks about several people being on the roof in the second camp. He says Pops claimed surrender, then clapped, killing Bill and the man, squishing entrails over him and the others that were chained to him. He says Augustus stopped them from killing him.
Tenebrae stands up for Pops, saying he doesn't have a good memory or control over his movements and body, alluding to him being incontinent. She mentions him seeing creatures he didn't know, then is interrupted stating they were human. She elaborates saying he can barely see and runs after anything moving.
She says Eli thought there were wounded and he could cauterize the wounds setting the others aflame. She talks about trying to prevent loss.
Pops blurts out Cataracks.
El'Lynn steps forward and pleads not guilty. Then he states he went to defend Pops.
Orvarr steps up and asks "where is your main base of operations". His keep is a day's ride. He asks why nobody was here and the party needed to help in the first place. 25 men exist to defend all of his fiefdom says the Baron. He seems to be only defending Eli.
Pops shits himself and asks "for his pills".
Decisions will be made as first light as Augustus is freed.

Sigmund sneaks off to the Baron's house to try and talk with him an sp'Lat sneaks and follows him. Tenebrae tries to find elderly people and those who like them to try and bring them tomorrow.
Arriving at the Baron's house Sigmund asks for the Baron. As he comes to the door, the Baron asks if he is from earlier.
Mountain cheese is offered. Orvarr offers his services to the Baron and his guard with any bandits or problems to make up for some of the transgressions and make justice fair.
The wolves are family pets. The bandit airship is mentioned and the Baron had already investigated the sites. He mentions where they are obtaining Magicite and thinks it's near him. The Baron says months of journeying by horse can lead to three different sites where it's mined.
This Baron doesn't care about the rest of the world and doesn't care beyond his borders and people. He messaged the Duke who will message the Emperor for the Empire to handle.
Sigmund heads back to the Church, followed by the hidden sp'Lat.

sp'Lat sets up a sign to raise money for attacked elderly and plays on the street, getting 11cp. Tenebrae performs for the elderly.
When night falls, sp'Lat runs off (he dulls the blades of the guillotines and attempts to block up the sides with wood as much as possible.).
Sigmund talks his way to the prisoners to give them final rites. Pops is asked about 8 people in a bar in secret. Pops explains it was an accident in defense of the patrons.
Sigmund says he won't let them execute Eli as he was acting in Defense and mentions to "be prepared if something happens in the night" and to not kill anyone.
Unable to find Augustus, Sigmund finds Tenebrae and states his idea: Free them now and avoid the trial. Have Augustus put them to sleep and he forces the doors open.
Tenebrae asks where they would go after. Sigmund offers leaving and letting them maybe go separately.
He asks her to find Augustus and tell him the plan, as he cannot find him.
She will find Augustus and tell him to find Sigmund and she won't say the plan.
She gathers the other two and sends them to plan in front of the church.
As soon as Sigmund mentions the start of the plan, sp'Lat jumps off into a tree not wanting to talk in front of the place they intend to attack...
He shares it and Augustus doesn't want to do it.
Tenebrae hunts down sp'Lat and licks him, then they chat, with sp'Lat saying talking here is unsafe and to assume they know this plan.
Augustus points out that Sigmund and him would be incriminated by abilities anyhow and finally mentions the wolves. Sigmund alludes to using Knock and not his strength on the doors.
Sigmund thanks Augustus for the smart advice.
**Augustus glances at a guard who mouthes "thank you", and then he winks back.**

As everyone goes to the verdict, Tenebrae's crowd seems to be yelling for murder instead.
Pops makes no additional pleas but notes his honor. Tenebrae chants to set him free and Augustus chants to kill him as the only 2 chanting.
They say Pop's accuser and defense matched with his incontinence added. **Pops is given a life sentence as he cannot control himself.**
Tenebrae whispers to Sigmund that now he can break him out.
Eli is found to have acted in defence of others. His punishment will be a fine of 2000gp and his left hand.
As Sigmund is about to call out, Tenebrae hits him. He still yells "make it 3000 and a pinky" and then gets hit again with a claw.
Eli's hand is placed under the guillotine, the rope pulled and the blade slams but is very dull and doesn't go down all the way, horribly breaking his arm.
They jerk him to another and do the same, failing again. They eventually give up and bandage him up roughly.
As Tenebrae and Sigmund argue, sp'Lat says "at least my plan worked".
Eli eventually passes out since the Cleric never came for him. Everyone else leaves the square without getting a good execution.
Tenebrae uses her signet ring to send a message to Melvin and gets just a response saying the adventure sounds grand and he awaits the stories of earning the cash and gets nothing else back otherwise.
As Sigmund does his best the bleeding is stopped and the hand falls off.
After some arguing the party leaves the town to maybe hunt down the Baron.

Augustus notes it could take near a month of travel to hit the magicite mines.

Session 5 - 18/09/2021

The party thinks of closer magicite mines as Tenebrae sees nearby mountains. Augustus notes these mountains have copper and no magicite as only the spine has it.
These are professional magicite mines owned by the empire and well guarded.
Tenebrae doesn't want to travel without a horse and wants to steal one, so they continue up the road.
Finding no water at the end of the day, sp'Lat sadly pours 2 waterskins into his tub and tries to sleep in it. It doesn't work and he awakes exhausted.
Realizing sp'Lat isn't looking good, Sigmund asks and then magically creates water for him to sit in for an hour.
Another day passes uneventfully and the next they come up upon a fishing shack that doesn't look used.
An old man slowly approaches with pots and pans. Sigmund uses Thaumaturgy to yell "Hello Friend", and the man waves back and responds "hello" as Sigmund approaches.
Sigmund notes they aren't looters and claims the party was just walking by and thought it was abandoned.
The man claims the party are looters still and wants the baron. He stops Tenebrae from approaching with a stick.
Tenebrae tries to talk it out but he calls sp'Lat a "damn dirty slaver frog" and points at him. sp'Lat waves back with Eli's old hand with a bite taken out of it.
Sigmund inquires and realizes that the old man is telling the truth about Grung.
The old man notes Sigmund isn't from here and offers him to sit near the boat and think things over.
The Goliath tosses 3gp to the old man who says "I don't need your money son".
A piece of copper wire is twisted in the old man's hands and it disappears, maybe casting some message spell, but not the basic one as nothing verbal was said.
As sp'Lat walks up, Augustus creates a Cromatic Orb of poison, hitting the old man. His cloak dissolves, revealing a breast-plate.
Sigmund casts Shield of Faith on the old man while yelling, "whoa, watch it! What are we doing?"

sp'Lat moves behind the old man and pulls out his shield, waiting to see the response.
Tenebrae tries to inspire Sigmund to be a part of the family as the party should stick together.
Sigmund heals everyone with a Prayer of Healing, trying to calm everyone down while repeatedly yelling "what are we doing?"
Augustus glances to Eli to see if he has a devilish grin and just notes he's patting Sigmund on the shoulder. He then casts Hold Person on the old man.
He shakes his head and says "Y'all don't know what you're messing with" and then carves something in wood quickly and drops it at his feet, reappearing 15ft away. In the place is a little crossbow on a tripod.
Tenebrae tries to lift the fishing net to throw it but it's too heavy for her with all the iron weights on it.
Seeing Augustus attacking, Sigmund tries to command him to "Surrender", but fails.
Augustus tries to sleep Sigmund but it fails.
The old man zig-zags after reappearing at the crossbow, shakes his head, and then says, "Sorry My Boy" as a bolt of force shoots from the crossbow on the ground, just missing Augustus.
It appears he casted shield on himself to Augustus and Eli, overriding the Shield of Faith from Sigmund.
Eli continues to pat Sigmund and uses Tasha's Mind Whip to hurt the old man.
Augustus an Eli recognize this is an Eldrich Cannon in the form of an Force Crossbow, making this man some kind of Artificer.
sp'Lat spots a tiny clockwork figure sticking out of the man's robes waving at sp'Lat.
Tenebrae tries to trick Sigmund into helping her with the net "so nobody gets hurt".
They both heave the net up as Augustus creates a Flaming Sphere, hurting the old man some.
This old man teleports a bit and runs over to Augustus as a bolt of force hits him. He then follows it up with a whack upside Augustus's head.
Eli keeps trying to calm down Sigmund and non-verbally mind-whipping the old man.
sp'Lat hops back behind the man and waves to the small clockwork creature, and it waves back again looking a little perky and excited.
Sigmund and Tenebrae drag the net over and throws it on the crossbow. Eli thinking this might work and Augustus realizing how dumb his party truly is as this thing doesn't move and shoots force...
The flaming sphere moves, hitting the old man as Augustus commands it, then he uses his Poison Chromatic org again, splashing the old man.
With the net on it, the crossbow pivots and shoots at Tenebrae, just missing her.
While his club is held out, Scorching Rays fire from the Old Man's stick, with only one hitting Augustus.
Following the old man again, sp'Lat asks the small thing "Do you Speak?" and it nods, so he gives it a small silver coin (which the party sees as sp'Lat feeding his clothing coins).
Tenebrae grapples onto the old man's legs and starts to pur and rub on him.
Sigmund tries to appologize for the actions of the party and uses cure wounds on the old man.
Augustus falls unconcious and the old man blinks away from Tenebrae telling the party to take care of their companion and teach him to respect his betters as he turns invisible (Eli notes it's a cast invisibility).

Augustus is spared from death's grasp by Sigmund.
sp'Lat spots the old man with 3 other around 300ft away. They walk away shaking their heads.
Sigmund forcefully heals Augustus twice as the party argues for 15 minutes.
sp'Lat carves an approximation of the clockwork friend the guy had, then hops back to the party as Augustus shoots a Color Spray at him in protest.
Tenebrae steals the pillows and sheets in the laziest dorm invasion of all time.
After doing this for a while, Eli notes the man is getting help or the Baron, so they should leave.
Eli and sp'Lat meet by the fire and sp'Lat shares about his new magical friend and he tells him about the 3 other men.
Eventually Tenebrae spots the wooden carving and interrogates sp'Lat as to what it is, confused how this is a friend. She goes to grab it and is immediately swiped at by sp'Lat who lands a bruise as he missed. She licks him and then a conversation starts.
Eventually Tenebrae gets Sigmund stating sp'Lat is going crazy since he thinks people aren't friends with him.
Sigmund asks about slavery and learns about the Grung pits sp'Lat's family lead. Sigmund also reveals the recipe for mountain cheese.
Mountain cheese: Water, Goliath Dead Skin collected, and time.
