1. Sarven's questions
2. Timbl's questions
----
1.
- Have you participated in CGs and/or WGs? Share your experience and contributions.
No, I only am member of the Solid CG since mid or late 2018 and have done minor tweaks on Jeff's solid-file-client-demo and one minor PR to the solid-logic repository (will look up exact date and links to contributions).
as experience I can mention solidweb.org and solidweb.me running on Debian 10 with nginx as reverse proxy/load balancer and maintaining them (version updates, certificates renewal, backups, controlling them).
I am afraid that system doesn't match actual security standards that is due to me being autodidact from 2004 on.
I am reading (lurking) in the chat every day. but I have a 9to5 job, and I don't know if a part time chair meets the requirements.
- Have you been an editor or author of a W3C Recommendation?
No.
- When did you join the W3C Solid CG?
must've been late 2018 or early 2019, in any way before https://github.com/mark-book/markbook/issues/29
- What is your motivation for becoming chair?
this deserves an extra letter. I cannot express equally verbose, cognitive fitting in english because german is my mother tongue.
Anyway, I have to learn ontologies, vocabularies and democracy. Expect an *motivation letter* in english on monday, oct. 16th.
- What are some of your contributions to the W3C Solid CG (please include links)?
work on solid-file-client-demo prior to https://github.com/jeff-zucker/solid-file-client/pull/226/commits/bcb76d14458bd82210cb2e199e5163e7428746be#diff-38e86ea6dbed7a05ced6289f30780860a37b932165594cf772bab6bd6ec53a47
minor work (only with help) on https://github.com/SolidOS/solid-logic/pull/58
- How have you contributed to consensus in the W3C Solid CG?
I have been maybe 1 of 4 monthly in the weekly meeting and occasionally in the SolidOS meetings, but contributed very little code and was mainly listening.
- How have you contributed to promoting a healthy work environment?
I am working in a print office that acts for handicapped people and we have to teamwork with 8 to 12 people. we catch each others mistakes. we are a small biotope also where I live as a 17 people community. I have low self esteem, but am NOT guided by ego.
- How have you promoted diversity and inclusion of voices from different backgrounds?
I write a blog since 2012 about technical topics and stuff that is important in my little life as psychonaut. we did some DEIT-Team meetings.
- How have you helped prevent disruptive behaviour?
prevent... that is taking care in advance. I think talk. communicate, give everyone a voice.
- How do you handle objections to proposals or decisions?
working with +1'es, -1'es, 0's, raising hands to add to q, trying to stay neutral, which is (if I'm honest) IMPOSSIBLE.
- What steps have you taken to ensure the group delivers on its commitments? Share your experience.
No experience. I think here would be key to ensure that we come up with action items regularly, as conclusion of the meeting.
- Have you authored guidelines, processes, or policies in an open community? Share your experience.
No experiences.
- How do you navigate conflicts of interest (including personal or affiliation) while prioritising and making allowances for the community's interests and concerns?
... tough one ... giving equal voices ... abstract ... think about the charter of human rights ... ask the code of conduct ... let pass half an hour ... do not think in hierachies ... balance out ... silence ... pray ...

2.
- Have you run hackathons?
No.
- Have you run meetups?
No.
- Have you coordinated meetups in different places?
for a year or two Angelo and me were running Solid Germany Gitter Chat.
- Have you made outreach to neighboring projects and got them involved with this one?
No.
- Have you helped work on the overall roadmap of the movement and helped prioritize the work?
No. think first thing I would have to learn is understanding, labeling accurately and prioritizing issues.
- Have you managed projects in software or content?
I have produced the custom `index.html` for https://solid.redpencil.io
- Have you worked on public communications strategy for an org?
only my own. https://linkedin.com/company/meisdata-io
- Have you written public releases for a project?
only extensive code experiments with npm, javascript, shellprogramming, java.
- Have you fostered energy and participation in the global open source community?
only solid. I think it was Mitzi who onboarded me. growing slowly I encouraged Sharon (from whom I took the role as baby coder) to continue contributing.
- Have you coordinated crowdfunding around a project?
No.
- Have you used a Solid pod to run a project?
I have written (copied over the INSERT DATA) this script https://github.com/ewingson/lib/tree/master/pub/test
the output of that little program went over to
https://testpro.solidweb.org/public/eighteenlix.ttl
there's a sleep loop in the code because of non-physical reasons. I thought data went over the net too fast. the script doesn't complete to process all the data provided in the input text file.
