Over the past four months, Arbitrum LATAM has made significant strides in promoting the Arbitrum ecosystem throughout Latin America. This report outlines the extensive activities undertaken, the collaborations established with academic institutions, the increase in community engagement, and the educational content produced. Our focus has remained on fostering understanding and usage of Arbitrum, while also addressing the specific needs and interests of the Latin American community.
During the Second Stage of the Arbitrum LATAM project, the team has successfully achieved all the objectives outlined in their proposal for the Arbitrum grants within the 'Education, Community Growth & Events 2.0' domain.
During this second phase, the team focused on stablishing important parnerships and collaborations with academic institutions, ecosystem projects, the Arbitrum Foundation, among others. In this time, a total of 5 participations at universities so far (with a total attendance of over 200 students, and with more collaborations to come in Q4 2024) and 8 ecosystem partnerships in virtual events (over 1,3k listeners in total), aswell as a collaboration with known influencer, Crypto Sheinix. The Arbitrum LATAM community has seen an increased growth pace, as the total community now boasts 1,1k users in total.
Our project continued to deliver insightful content to the community such as educative articles, informative updates (bi-weekly and monthly), and also continued to expand our educative Podcast series.
The team successfully partnered with several prestigious universities in Argentina, delivering five distinct classes over the past four months. These sessions were held at the following institutions:
In total, more than 200 participants—including students, professionals, and professors—attended these sessions. The content ranged from introductory topics on blockchain and Layer 2 solutions from Arbitrum's perspective to more in-depth discussions on DAOs, their functionality, governance, and practical applications. We also explored philosophical perspectives on decentralization, encouraging critical thinking about its role as a means to an end, rather than the ultimate goal itself.
As we mentioned in previous reports, our university outreach program seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing students with practical knowledge and real-world applications of blockchain technology. By engaging with educational institutions, the Arbitrum LATAM project aims to bolster collaboration, research, and innovation in the ecosystem.
Proof of Work:
The educational articles created for the project represent a didactic transposition strategy tailored to make complex topics related to the Arbitrum protocol accessible and comprehensible. Each article employs clear and engaging language, breaking down intricate concepts into digestible segments. The didactic transposition aims to facilitate a smooth learning experience, ensuring that even those new to blockchain and decentralized technologies can grasp the nuances of Arbitrum.

The podcast series is designed to provide an auditory journey into the world of Arbitrum for the Spanish-speaking community. Through these episodes, the project aims to deliver insightful and accessible content, unraveling the intricacies of Arbitrum's technology, use cases, and broader implications within the blockchain space. Each episode, with an average duration of 10-15 minutes, covers a specific aspect, offering an engaging format for users to deepen their understanding. By creating this series, our project seeks to cater to diverse learning preferences, reaching a wider audience and fostering a sense of connection within the Spanish-speaking community as they explore the rich landscape of Arbitrum and decentralized technologies.

Will there be a Third Stage?
No. While we are looking to continue the Stage 2 until the end of 2024, we will not be pursuing a third stage of funding through grants as we will transition toward a sustainable model for the Arbitrum LATAM initiative. With the groundwork laid during our previous stages, we will focus on establishing Arbitrum LATAM as a key Ecosystem Support Actor in 2025. This shift signifies a move from grant-funded pilot projects to a long-term strategy aimed at fostering deeper partnerships, enhancing educational outreach, and driving innovation within the Arbitrum ecosystem across Latin America.
Ecosystem Support Actor
Arbitrum LATAM envisions its role as a critical Ecosystem Support Actor essential for the growth and sustainability of the Arbitrum ecosystem in the region. By acting as a bridge between the Arbitrum protocol and local stakeholders—including universities, startups, and corporations—we aim to facilitate collaboration, enhance educational outreach, and drive innovation within the community.
Our focus for 2025 includes:
By focusing on university partnerships and corporate outreach, we aim to nurture talent and projects that can contribute to the ecosystem’s growth. We will address gaps not currently covered by either the Arbitrum Foundation or the DAO, enabling us to support initiatives that encourage adoption and engagement across the region.
Our collaborative efforts will not overlap with the responsibilities of the Arbitrum Foundation or DAO; instead, we will work in tandem to fill specific gaps in educational outreach and corporate engagement that are currently underserved. This approach ensures that our initiatives reflect community needs and priorities, ultimately creating a strong, interconnected blockchain community in LATAM.
