# Balance Changes # Round 5 - Wednesday, 10/31 ## Abilities - **Weakness** - Removed the Melee attack debuff portion, it will now only reduce the Health of enemy Monsters by 1 point. This was too powerful, particularly at lower levels and combined with Zintar Mortalis as the Summoner. ## Monsters Magic attack Monsters, combined with Alric as the Summoner, were far too overpowered at lower levels of play. We hope that making the Medusa and Mischievous Mermaid cards a little easier to kill will help address that: - **Medusa** - Reduced health, particularly at lower levels. - **Mischievous Mermaid** - Reduced health, particularly at lower levels. The Spirit of the Forest is a bit TOO legendary and completely shuts down enemy teams in certain situations. - **Spirit of the Forest** - Removed the Dodge ability so it will be a bit easier to hit. The poor Cyclops was in need of a little love. Hopefully this change will give it a home in some decks going forward. - **Cyclops** - Add Shield ability and adjusted some other stats to compensate. The tanking options in the Life Splinter were lacking, so we're planning to beef them up a bit. - **Silvershield Knight** - Increased Health and decreased Melee attack. - **Silvershield Paladin** - Increased Health and decreased Melee attack. A number of people pointed out that a few cards had no stat increases between certain levels. This was an oversight on our part, so the cards will be slightly adjusted to ensure that each additional level brings some added benefit. - **Golblin Sorcerer** - Increased the speed at some levels so that it has a stat increase at each level. - **Swamp Thing** - Adjusted health so that it has a stat increase at each level. - **Enchanted Pixie** - Decreased Speed by 1 at Level 6 so that it has a stat increase at each level. # Round 4 - Friday, 10/12 ## Abilities - **Void and Shield** - Both of these abilities will now round up instead of down for damage taken, with a minimum of 1 damage reduced. This means that 3 damage would be reduced to 2 instead of 1, and 5 would be reduced to 3 instead of 2, etc. - **Trample** - Trample will no longer trigger as the result of a trample attack killing its target. This way entire teams cannot get trampled. - **Blast** - Monsters will no longer be able to be stunned by blast damage. ## Monsters - **Angel of Light** - Removed the Protect ability. - **Haunted Spider** - Mana cost increased to 3 from 2. - **Skeleton Assassin** - Reduced Melee attack from 4 to 3 at max level. - **Screaming Banshee** - Reduced health by 2 at each level. - **Lightning Dragon** - Reduced Ranged attack to 3 from 4 at max level # Round 3 - Tuesday, 10/9 ## Abilities - **Group Heal** - Group Heal is being changed to Tank Heal and it will now only heal the Monster in the first position on the Team instead of all Monsters on the Team. We hope this change will make Sneak and Snipe Teams more viable and also give more value to the regular Heal ability. - **Slow** - Slow will now reduce the Speed stat of all enemy Monsters by 1 point instead of 2 points. ## Monsters - **Clay Golem** - Reduced Melee attack by 1 point at max level. - **Lightning Dragon** - Decreased Health by 2 at each level. - **Cerberus** - Increased Health, decreased Melee attack, and added the Heal ability. - **Elemental Phoenix** - Increased Magic attack by 1 at max level # Round 2 - Wednesday, 10/3 ## Abilities - **Fear** - We are removing the Fear ability from the game. While we liked it in concept, in practice it was mostly useless as most teams have inspire. In the rare event it was used it completely won the battle as it removes the main tank from the front. - **Blast** - The Blast ability can no longer miss when on a Ranged attack Monster. ## Summoners - **Malric Inferno** - Removed the +1 Speed buff, now only gives +1 Melee Attack to friendly Monsters. - **Zintar Mortalis** - Removed the -1 Speed buff, now only gives -1 Melee Attack to enemy Monsters. ## Monsters - **Peaceful Giant** - Reduced Health by 2 at each level - **Raging Impaler** - Increased Mana cost to 6 from 5. - **Hydra** - Increased Mana cost to 7 from 6. - **Defender of Truth** - Not sure what I was thinking when this card was made, redesigned it entirely - **Angel of Light** - Increased Mana cost to 5 from 4 and added Resurrect starting at level 1 (so it's not a useless card at lower levels) - **Haunted Spirit** - Reduced Melee Attack and increased Health - **Screaming Banshee** - Removed the Fear ability and replaced with Blast. - **Lord of Darkness** - Replaced the Fear ability with the "Shield" ability to make him a more viable tank. - **Pit Ogre** - Added the Void ability to make him a more viable tank - **Serpentine Soldier** - Added Shield ability and reduced Melee Attack - **Serpent of the Flame** - Decreased attack and increased Health - **Goblin Sorcerer** - Reduced Mana cost to 3 from 4 and reduced Health and Speed a bit to compensate. - **Flesh Golem** - Decreased Melee attack and increased Health - **Stone Golem** - Decreased Melee attack and increased Health - **Swamp Thing** - Reduced Mana cost to 2 from 3 and removed Void ability (as this was mostly useless) - **Magi of the Forest** - Reduced Mana cost to 4 from 5 and reduced Health - **Chromatic Dragon** - Replaced Fear ability with Thorns and reduced Melee Attack and increased Health # Round 1 - Saturday, 9/29 ## Abilities - **Enrage** - Enrage now increases the Monster's Speed stat in addition to its Melee Attack stat when active. Additionally both Melee Attack and Speed stat increases are now rounded up instead of down. - **Blast** - Damage to adjacent Monsters is now rounded up instead of down. ## Monsters - **Elven Cutthroat** - The value of the Sneak ability was increased so all Monsters with Sneak have had other stats adjusted slightly downwards to accommodate. - **Enchanted Pixie** - Certain Splinters were not designed to be able to have certain abilities, one of which was Protect. The Protect ability has been removed from the Pixie and she has been given an additional Magic Attack point at max level to compensate. - **Cocatrice** - The Cocatrice's Speed stat has been reduced to 6 from 8. I still very much like this as a "tech" card to defend against Sneak decks but 8 Speed seemed a bit too much. - **Magi Sphinx** - Reduced Mana cost to 5 from 6 and Reduced Health by 1 point at all levels to make this card a little more playable. - **Raging Impaler** - Added the Shield ability at level 5 to try to make this card a more viable tank. - **Gold Dragon** - Reduced the Mana cost to 7 from 9 to make this card more "Legendary". - **Lightning Dragon** - Reduced the Mana cost to 7 from 8 and replaced the Thorns ability with the Blast ability (since it rarely gets hit with a Melee attack triggering Thorns as a ranged Monster anyway). - **Feral Spirit** - The value of the Sneak ability was increased so all Monsters with Sneak have had other stats adjusted slightly downwards to accommodate. - **Skeleton Assassin** - The value of the Sneak ability was increased so all Monsters with Sneak have had other stats adjusted slightly downwards to accommodate. - **Lord of Darkness** - Reduced Mana cost to 7 from 8 and increased Health / decreased Attack to make him a more playable tank. - **Kobold Miner** - The value of the Sneak ability was increased so all Monsters with Sneak have had other stats adjusted slightly downwards to accommodate. In the case of the Kobold Miner the Speed was increased to make him more viable in the Sneak position as compared to other Splinters' Sneak Monsters. Please keep in mind though that he only costs 2 Mana. - **Elemental Phoenix** - Reduced Mana cost to 7 from 9, decreased Magic Attack and increased Health. - **Sabre Shark** - The value of the Sneak ability was increased so all Monsters with Sneak have had other stats adjusted slightly downwards to accommodate. - **Mischievous Mermaid** - Reduced Mana cost to 5 from 6 and reduced Health to compensate. - **Frost Giant** - Reduced Mana cost to 7 from 8 to make this card a little more "Legendary". - **Goblin Sorcerer** - The value of the Sneak ability was increased so all Monsters with Sneak have had other stats adjusted slightly downwards to accommodate.
