# DAOstar Plan for Q1 2025

For this quarter we plan to focus on DAOIP-5 Standards Improvement and Adoption

**Vision**: Establish DAOIP-5 as the metadata standard to build open grant tools and Grants Reporting, while building a sustainable foundation for broader adoption and collaboration.

**Q1 Mission:** Facilitate DAOIP-5 adoption in at least two grant tools, expand the data lake with diverse grant mechanisms and grant systems contributions, and create actionable frameworks and resources to guide future adoption pathways.

#### **1. Business Development (BD)**

- **Adoption Facilitation:**
- Finalize DAOIP-5 adoption with **Gitcoin / Allo** to improve grant application UX.
- Complete DAOIP-5 steps with **Stellar DAO**, enabling KarmaGAP data integration.

- **Data Integration:**
- Finalize data contributions from **Questbook**, **Celo** and **Fracton Ventures**.

- Use **Optimism grant and chain data** to build impactful visualizations.
- Collaborate with **Dennis (OP Labs)** to analyze and visualize grant data.
- Talk to Rex from Wonderland to create some dashboards for DAOIP-5

#### **4. Data Improvement and Standards**
- **Standard Refinement:**
- Incorporate **Shinya Mori’s feedback** on denomination normalization in DAOIP-5.
- Assess feedback from **Powerloom** regarding IPLD adoption and evaluate its feasibility.
- From Feedback by **Powerloom**, evaluate IPLD versus JSON-LD in DAOIP-5.
- Add potential new fields like Investment Sources, Grant Mechanism, grant pool size, grant pool funders etc.
- Add more guidance for existing fields that some grant managers have struggled with (eg, id, DAOIP-3 related fields)

- **Data Lake Analysis:**
- Assess and categorize the data lake to identify different grant mechanism data.
- Assess the data lake for quality of data
- Set up a data quality standard for DAOIP-5 data publishing, this could be used to potentially rate the DAOIP-5 Compliance rating for Grants Systems

- **Analysis and Quality Checks:**
- Collaborate with **Dennis (OP Labs)** to evaluate data quality and usability.
- Leverage Kevin Owocki’s "Onchain Capital Allocation" book to align the DAOIP-5 data lake with key ecosystem visions.
