# Manifesting DAOhaus Vision

Vision is most critical agreement on the way to product/market fit.

We must uncover the values that drive us as individuals, the products we build and the community we are cultivating. We must articulate a purpose that will keep us focused, credible and unique.

## Shooting Star

A shining example to prepare you for battle...

- It was 1943
- Air superioirty was winning World War II

Newly developed German turbojet-powered combat aircraft, with their superior speed and acceleration, showed early signs of dominating the skies over Europe.

- Skunk Works came to the rescue

The Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star was the first jet fighter used operationally by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). Designed and built by Lockheed in 1943. Production models were flying just **143 days** from the start of the design process.

The Shooting Star helped usher in the "jet age" in the USAF.

When aligned on a challenge small teams can change the game in short periods of time.

## Benefits of Vision

- Forces us to be clear with ourselves and our team about why this DAO matters
- Provides a lens for growing the DAO with the best contributors
- Enables pivots without losing the unique assets that make this organization valuable

## Values

Values are adjectives and phrases that describe this DAO.

[Tracheopteryx on Bankless](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZ4o6wma4js) said,

Vision and values "Helps align peoples effort and helps unlock their creative energy.

Knowing what you are heading toward and how you are going to get there is an active discussion.

There are principles that matter at Yearn, action, creativity, innovation, initiative, collaboration and integrity."

**We need to determine**:

1. What excites our contributors?
2. What makes this community unique?

## Next Steps

Think about the adjectives and phrases you would use to describe this organization.

- What is the DAO like?
- How would someone describe the atmosphere to a friend?

Take some time to brainstorm. Describe what you hope this DAO is and what matters to you as a human.

The goal is to push yourself. Come up with more ideas than you are comfortable with. Exhaust the possibilities. Quantity is better than quality. Go broad to get out as many ideas as we can.

After you have generated some ideas try to narrow them down and sort out the ones that mean the most.

**Criteria to consider**:

- Would you ragequit if the DAO wasn't like this?
- What characteristics are inescapable? (We are like this whether we want to or not.)
- Is this unique to us?
- Which values are the best of us?
- What is the organization you really want to be?

Prioritize the top five that are most important to you and discard everything else.

## What to Expect

The workshop will be a jam session in [Miro](https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVOUKT8uE=/?invite_link_id=76083510068).

We will use each others values to jump start the conversation. Hopefully we will identify some themes and provide threads to pull on. The values will be used as inputs to help us align on vision. Ultimately we are trying to establish some rails. To sketch a Mad Libs we can present to the community to fill in the blanks.

Please also think about what goals we a manifesto/constitution should accomplish. And what questions you feel are most important for us to address as a DAO.
