# DFO Quickstart Guide ## General * One of the most important things is to pick a class that you think is the coolest and have the most fun with, everything else will eventually come to you by playing the game and researching things * Every class belongs to one of three core types, which are Dealers, Synergy and Buffer Each class has an according symbol like D, S and B Dealers dish out the DMG in raids Synergy does damage, but also buffs everyone in the party Buffer keeps the party alive and boosted * play multiple characters I recommend doing this because of the fatigue point system, which will eventually prohibit you from progressing dungeons there are exceptions to the rule, but generally one dungeon room will cost one fatigue point * join a guild this will give you actual ingame benefits, like increased xp or stat values but beware of what guild you join, because leaving a guild will lock you out of joining another for multiple days * fatigue points are reset daily at 09:00 UTC * set up a hotkey with the command '//setitem' this will allow you to pile up all items in a room once per dungeon, which you will usually use after defeating the boss * set up a hotkey with the command '//setcharacter' this will allow you to respawn your character at the last entrance * do not auto complete quest lines above level 50, even if you are way overleveled for them, because some of them hold rewards like gear that you can upgrade at a later time and use for endgame content #### Links * [Arad Skill Build Database](https://arad.pure-db.com/) * [Class Roles Endgame Spreadsheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/18EeBx4aJZwqInES1SEYreFqxzRabQJRadHqQmb31Bbo/htmlview) * [Spectre Event Gear Finder](https://apps.dfcat.net/regiondungeon/) #### Videos * [AegisRick - 25 MUST KNOW TIPS For Newbies! ](https://youtu.be/WFhahWDiJ80) * [AegisRick - Gear Improvement Systems](https://youtu.be/KDDHGyvPIww) * [AegisRick - What to do once you hit level 100](https://youtu.be/MRQwWs-9ySQ) * [Medrathis - What to know before playing DFO ](https://youtu.be/bOW7N0uDih0) * [Lukepwn - Quick Way to Improve Damage](https://youtu.be/qAdkStudvGM) * [Synchroneity - Event Guide: Recommended Epics & Mythics for Spectre](https://youtu.be/YboY_4AIyTs) ## Leveling * don't distract yourself with endgame content and the meta just get to level 100 and then go from there * pick up everything you can and try not to start another dungeon run with max weight limit reached, because you are going to need a ton of stuff later on and it is always good to have it at hand * always have a x3 Growth Potion on while leveling you can buy this item for 10 Milage on page 2 of the item shop don't be afraid to use milage, you get it from simply playing the game * pick a profession at level 20 the available professions are Disassembler, Alchemist, Enchanter and Animator it is recommended having every profession on four different characters, but if you want an easy start go with disassembler or alchemist * try to start the last dungeon run with one fatigue point, since that is all you need to be able to clear it entirely * you can restore 30 fatigue points a day by using an Elixir of Fatigue Recovery this item is available on the Auction House for about 42k gold per potion, dont get ripped off and check the comma make sure to abuse the fact that you can start two dungeons with only one fatigue point left, by using the potion after the last dungeon you cleared ## Skills * make sure to read the skills descriptions, since a lot of them take less resources/cooldowns by inputting its command * commands can be freely edited, set them so they are easy for you to remember and execute * skills can be locked so that they won't be triggered at all this is useful for ignoring some lvl 1 skills that you never really want to use ## Gear #### Upgrading * reinforce gear playing a percentage based damage class * refine gear playing a fixed based damage class #### The golden rule of gear disposal you are going to pick up a ton of gear and items in this game and there is a very simple rule to live by when it comes to processing it * sell white/common items * disassemble blue/uncommon items * profession disassemble purple/rare ## Endgame #### General * get your crit chance up to 100% make sure to check your crit chance in dungeon and not within the town, because different buffs and/or passives may apply that increase this value already * in case you have a cube contract, add element damage to your weapon by assigning one type of cube in the materials tab to activated if your class already has a set element, add to its type instead of choosing another one you can buy a cube contract for 500k gold #### Team Composition 1 Buffer (must have) 0-2 Synergy (best 2) 1-3 Dealer (best 1) As a result an optimal team consists of 1 Buffer, 2 Synergy and 1 Dealer.
