Are/were you planning to include vesting in your core unit? - Will not include it in the proposal. Will wait for framework - Will ask in July for a new budget 2. What are some of your expectations on vesting for your core unit? (Details around amounts, time frame, structure, etc will be helpful) - Don't want to spend too much time on creating MKR vesting framework - Hoping the WG will figure it out - Need to figure out market rate for the team competancy - If it's too much MKR, we lose market side and if it's too little, we will lose culture - The SC framework is a starting point - Worry about a solution with no objection but people are unhappy - Need discussion around revenue (currently is too high to base it from) - quick and fair 3. Would you be willing to wait for a higher level framework from the working group? - Hoping to get a framework 4. If so, what timeframe are you willing to wait for a framework to develop? - Hoping for a proposal by end of this month 5. Other notes - Budget: Going top down - Want to make MKR token holder to be happy too - Anchor the MKR price - Giving 0.5M expecting it to be 5M, might be too much for a jr SC dev ### SES 1. Are/were you planning to include vesting in your core unit? - Yes 2. What are some of your expectations on vesting for your core unit? (Details around amounts, time frame, structure, etc will be helpful) 3. Would you be willing to wait for a higher level framework from the working group? If so, what timeframe are you willing to wait for a framework to develop? - Will provide our own input and use the best result we have after 2~3 weeks (to have some time before freeze time). ### Strategic Marcomms 1. Are/were you planning to include MKR compensation / vesting in your core unit? - Yes. 2. What are some of your expectations on vesting for your core unit? (Details around amounts, time frame, structure, etc will be helpful) - I want to allocate 20% of my unit’s annual compensation to a bonus in the form of MKR. They are given out on a semi-annual basis (30% half a year mark and 70% at full-year mark) when key results the unit has set are achieved. The team is flexible to adjust its incentives when a higher-level framework is developed. 3. Would you be willing to wait for a higher level framework from the working group? - Yes. It’s best to wait for a structure put in place after the work from a higher-level framework is complete. 4. If so, what timeframe are you willing to wait for a framework to develop? - It would be great to have something in place before the end of the year. I understand a framework will take time to be developed. MKR compensation serves as an incentive to attract talents, and a lot of hiring has begun for my unit at the moment. Therefore, I would rather see a well-developed plan rather than a rushed one. 5. Are you willing to adapt to the framework that is developed? - Yes. I imagine there will be lengthy discussions about it. If that is the final decision made, then I would be willing to adopt it. ### GovAlpha 1. Are/were you planning to include vesting in your core unit? - Yes, I guess so. I have to now, everyone is planning on doing it. 2. What are some of your expectations on vesting for your core unit? (Details around amounts, time frame, structure, etc will be helpful) - No idea yet, I need to think more about it. 3. Would you be willing to wait for a higher level framework from the working group? - Yes. 4. If so, what timeframe are you willing to wait for a framework to develop? - Til it's done, or it's decided one is not needed. 5. Are you willing to adapt to the framework that is developed? - Yes. ### Risk 1. Are/were you planning to include vesting in your core unit? - Ideally yes if that is something that every Tier 1 team has included. I may only not like to correlate MKR bonus with Maker's performance, which would have some conflict of interest problems for Risk and I know such idea existed some time ago 2. What are some of your expectations on vesting for your core unit? (Details around amounts, time frame, structure, etc will be helpful) - No idea, mostly go with general framework that people think it's good. I think we could/should position ourselves close to SC team members in terms of expectations, at least for ones who are senior and full time at Risk 3. Would you be willing to wait for a higher level framework from the working group? - Yes, I have no substantial suggestions. Maybe I'd personally prefer lower payouts and shorter vesting. Just because 4 years in crypto is 10+ years in real life. But on the other hand I get the point of making sure we incentivize long term commitments 4. If so, what timeframe are you willing to wait for a framework to develop? - Ideally 1 month before next possible adjustment for our quarterly budget, which is 1-2 months from now I guess? this way we can evaluate how much higher we might need to go with our budget at next adjustment. We suggested lower budget because some team members are still not full time committed, but probably will be in 3 months. 5. Are you willing to adapt to the framework that is developed? - Sure ### Content Production 1. Are/were you planning to include vesting in your core unit? - I want to say we heard about the discussion early enough that we decided to wait and see how the conversation around vesting goes but yes, I like the idea of having a standard for granting MKR to Core Unit contributors, both as a financial incentive and as a way to distribute power in governance to those building the ecosystem. 2. What are some of your expectations on vesting for your core unit? (Details around amounts, time frame, structure, etc will be helpful) - If no standard emerges, we may propose something based on what we see other Core Units are doing but ideally, I'd like to see a two-tier framework - I don't have a problem with core Core Units getting bigger bonuses but I think having more than two tiers also invites unnecessary arguments about what Core Units fall into what tiers. I’d also like to see the group decide what the minimum contribution should be to qualify (30 hours/week, minimum?) and when the vesting period starts. Since Core Units are getting voted in at different times, I wouldn't mind if we decided on something like: “the vesting period of any Core Unit voted in before (September, for example) starts in (April)” since we're standardizing it for everyone but if we’re sticking with the month Core Units get voted in, that’s fine as well. 3. Would you be willing to wait for a higher level framework from the working group? - Yes 4. If so, what timeframe are you willing to wait for a framework to develop? - It would help our proposed hiring process if we could get something figured out by the end of May. 5. Are you willing to adapt to the framework that is developed? - Yes ### Protocol Engineering 3. Would you be willing to wait for a higher level framework from the working group? - We’re moving forward with the proposal we currently have in place. If the WG comes up with a competitive framework then we will for sure assess. (basically, I’ll relay between the team and the working group to try and arrive at an agreement). 4. If so, what timeframe are you willing to wait for a framework to develop? - As our proposal is in formal submission, I’m not sure this applies to us as we’re pushing ahead with the proposal as is. Once the WG comes up with a plan, then we’ll look at it, most likely back-dated for simplicity. 6. Are you willing to adapt to the framework that is developed? - Ideally yes, I would like to but it depends on the discussion and where it lands relative to the CU proposal.
