### Description Eldoria is a vast and diverse fantasy world, brimming with ancient civilizations, majestic landscapes, and a rich tapestry of cultures and magic. Since this world is a high magic fantasy type, every intelligent creature in Eldoria is blessed with a Magic Crests, which is an extra organ (replacing the appendix) to sense and use magic in the air. There are 4 Seasons in Eldoria, representing the balanced cycle that Eldoria and its citizens experiences: - Verdant Bloom : Season of Rebirth (Spring) - Radiant Sun : Season of Radiance (Summer) - Whispering Winds : Season of Change (Autumn) - Frostfall : Season of Death (Winter) ## Magic in Eldoria 1. All magic are part of the Weave. 2. It is categorised into 4 different categories: - Arcane - Standard manipulation of logic and laws of the world. - Example: Rune etching, scholar casting, spell storing. - Divine - Magic that comes from a deity. (Evil, Good, Neutral) - Occult magic is a subset of this category - Basically magic that interacts with the divinity of Eldoria - Psychic/Mental - Magic that deals with the mind. It is very rare since either it has to be innate from mindflayers or some kind of mindflayer experiment gone wrong. - Nature - Magic that manipulates the elements and the physical properties of the world. 3. Each Eldorian has the ability to sense magic with their crests. The feeling is similar to sensing gravity. ## Deities and Mysticism Deity system in Eldoria follows the rules `As Above, So Below`. This means that while deities have control over mortals in how they give out their powers, domains, specialties and blessings, and some manner of fate, mortals too have some control over what their deities are. For example, a long forgotten minor deity with a domain over air can be revamped into a deity of weather, should their followers believe that the deity is able to do it. This, however, would take a large amount of "faith" from the mortals. There are other sources of Divine magic, such as oaths, but ultimately it will create a deity/idol of some kind, internal or otherwise. Note that a deities powers is proportional to the "faith" counter. The general idea is power is proportional to faith times followers. As of the present, there are many deities for each domain, which mainly comes from the pf2e list of deities. Opportunities to create new ones may arise. The list below is not exhaustive, these are the major ones worshipped in Eldoria #### Additional Deities to Eldoria Solara: - Sun - Zeal - Moon - Might - Fire - Fate - Family - Destruction - Confidence Humans who worship Solara attributes her aspects to different domains/deities due to their monotheistic nature of worship. As such, attribution to different domains is given to Solara as aspects. The myth came about from the Church of Solara who organizes the human largest human religion in the continent It is to be noted that not all humans worship Solara. ### Hollow Lifes Pantheon // (Hololive/Modern idols) #### The Nameless (Mumei) The cult of the Nameless began as a political manoeuvre. In an attempt to prevent religion swaying the outcome of any judicial proceeding, the executors of the law were to be inducted into a cult dedicated solely to the law. The cult would worship no other god, and obey no creed beyond the pursuit of justice. However, this changed when the saint was discovered. ##### The Saint of Seven Verses In *insert year here*, a girl was found with the power to see through lies and determine one's sin. In the generations since its founding, the cult of the Nameless had gone from being godless, to worshipping the Nameless as a god in jest, to fragmenting into theological factions, some of which believed the Nameless was a true god. These latter factions declared the girl as a saint of the Nameless, bestowing on her the title of the Saint of Seven Verses, for the seven basic laws the cult followed. ##### The Seven Verses The seven laws of the cult are split into the four earthly laws, Lex Restitutionis, Lex Naturae, Lex Dominii and Lex Laboris; the two heavenly laws, Lex Veritatis and Lex Misericordiae; and finally the one true law, Lex Talionis. - **Lex Restitutionis** The law of restitution. The law dictates that others' losses suffered as a result of one's actions must be paid back. Followers of Restitutio tend to act as mediators. These followers wear their holy symbols on a necklace. - **Lex Naturae** The law of nature. The law dictates that any harm attributed to natural causes may not have any blame laid at an individual's feet. Followers of Natura guard the boundaries between cities and the wilds, to prevent any harm caused by nature. These followers wear their holy symbols emblazoned on the chest of their clothes or armour. - **Lex Dominii** The law of ownership. The law dictates that one who owns property has responsibility over the property, and any harm caused or benefit gained by the property belongs to them. Followers of Dominii are usually found in a court of law, debating the finer points of ownership. These followers wear their holy symbols as rings. - **Lex Laboris** The law of labor. The law dictates that one's works belong to them, and should they work on behalf of another, the quality of the work and the fidelity of the payment must be commensurate. Followers of Labor defend labourers, and hold them to a high standard of work. These followers wear their holy symbols on the shoulder of their garments. - **Lex Veritatis** The law of truth. The law dictates that falsehoods may not be tolerated. Followers of Veritas are feared second only to those of Talion, acting as wandering judges to settle legal disputes outside of the larger cities. To lie to a follower of Veritas is to court death. These followers wear their holy symbols on their brows, as a circlet or helm. - **Lex Misericordiae** The law of compassion. The law dictates that if one were to be unable to pay a debt and survive, the debt is to be held in abeyance until they are in a position to pay it. Followers of Misericordia are often at odds with the followers of Veritas and Talion, and they too travel the land, offering mercy and paths to redemption. These followers wear their holy symbols on the back and palm of a glove or gauntlet. - **Lex Talionis** The final resort, the law of retaliation. The law dictates that if one should blind the eye of another, they themselves will have an eye blinded. Followers of Talion travel the land, hunting those who think themselves untouchable and unbeholden to the law, and bring them to justice by any means necessary. These followers wear their holy symbols cut into a hood as eyeholes. ##### The Cult New members of the cult join as Initiates, being trained in all aspects of the law. After this training period is over, the initiates are expected to dedicate themselves to one of the seven verses, becoming Adherents. When an adherent proves themselves as a paragon of the law, they are promoted to Disciples. Lastly, after accomplishing great deeds in the service of the law, they may be promoted to Apostles. Whispers speak of an unpublicised rank higher even than apostle. These Omens are said to command nigh unparalleled respect, and wield such power and authority that one would be hard pressed to find even an emperor who would gainsay their rulings. The vast majority of initiates gravitate to the earthly laws, gathering in cabals in large cities to facilitate day-to-day life. The followers of the earthly laws rarely leave the cities, practicing the law in civilisation. Few choose the heavenly laws, those that do suffering the hardships of travel, offering redemption and judgement in loose bands that wander the countryside, seeking for wrongs to right far from the assurance that cities provide. Fewer still choose Talion, dooming themselves to a life of solitude, tracking outlaws and monsters deep into the wilds, where they act alone as judge, jury and executioner. ##### The Nameless Once but a concept, the descent of the Saint has elevated the Nameless to true godhood in the eyes of many. Some believe the Nameless to have no fixed form; others, that the Saint is the Nameless herself made flesh. The only thing believers will agree on is that she is the personification of the Law itself. The symbol of the Nameless is a small triangle, with two larger circles raised above it, one on either side. Some say it is a stylised representation of a set of scales, fitting for a god of Justice. Others, perhaps traumatised by encounters with followers of Talion, claim it to represent the holes in a skull. Similar to the nervous system, it transmits electric-like signals to focus the use of the Arcane Weave across the body. For example: a simple cast of a Detect Magic focused on the nose, would allow the caster to "smell" the presence of magic. However, just like a muscle group in the body, one needs to train the organ in order to use it properly. Normal citizens with no training on the crest would only be able to vaguely detect the presence of magic, similar to having a sense for gravity. Should this ogran be removed or damaged, Eldorians **can** survive, but their ablity to sense the weave will permanently severed unless they receive a transplant. It is extremely diffult to find a a transplant even in twins since each Crest is almost unique. ## History of the World ### Age of Genesis #### ??? - ??? #### Myths - Eldoria was created in the precipice of 2 deities: Lumina and Umbra. - Nearing the end of the Age of Genesis, both Lumina and Umbra failed to contain the enroaching Outer Gods, an all consuming force that threatens the world they made. By the end they decided to slow the progress by sealing the Outer Gods. - Weakened from creating the seal, their existences were nearing their end. Rather than choosing to simply return and continuously bar the enroaching void, they decided to scatter their powers across Eldoria in the hope that when the seal broke, there would be forces that can end the conflict once and for all. - Their existence and power scattered across Eldoria choosing mortals as their champions and ascending them to godhood in the hope that they would be able to stop the Outer Gods. The idea is a combination of pure light and pure darkness cannot defeat the void because of their purity. One cannot truly understand or even begin to fathom Outer Gods. There needs to be balance in Eldorian existence. ### Age of Archons With the death and splintering of the twin deities, mortals were awakened into godhood to fight the now failing seal on the Void. The First Apostles, champions of Luminara and Umbraxis, were: - Solara, the Radiant Champion: Solara was awakened by Luminara, the embodiment of light, to be the First Apostle of the humans in Eldoria. She embodies the virtues of courage, justice, and compassion, and acts as a guiding light for her people. - Shadowthorn, the Eternal Briar: Shadowthorn was awakened by Umbra, the essence of darkness and mystery, to be the First Deity of the Leshy, a representation of Nature's immortal guardian. They embody stealth, cunning, and the resiliency of Nature. - Astralyn, the Starweaver: Astralyn was awakened by Luminara and Umbraxis to be the First Goddess of the elven race. She possesses a deep connection to celestial energies and the natural world, serving as a guardian of the forests and an ambassador between mortals and the cosmic forces. - Gloomclaw, the Silent Sentinel: Gloomclaw is the First God awakened by Umbra to represent the goblins, a mischievous and cunning race. Gloomclaw embodies the duality of shadows, symbolizing both the deceptive nature and the resourcefulness of the goblins. - Terraforge, the Unfallen: Terraforge was awakened by Luminara to be the First Apostle of the Orcs, A Warmongering race. Terraforge embodies the mastery of rage and passion in the world. These were the champions of Luminara and Umbraxis awakened to fight against nihility itself. Each hero was awakened because they represent the strength of character to say, "If nothing matters, then let's make it matter." #### The Sealing of Nihility Key events: - Rite of Banishment: A ritual conducted by the First Apostles to seal and banish the Entity to the furthest reaches possible. These entities will later be classified as Outer Gods Deities. The sacrifices for this Rite were Luminara and Umbraxis forever sealed as Gate Guardians to prevent the Outer Gods from ever returning. The Seal depict the Twin Deities' (Yin and Yang) Symbols holding a black void. - Establishment of the Divine Summit: - Elves, Humans, Orcs, Leshy joined. Goblins opted out and was replaced by the Dwarves. - `Arms of the Apostles` : Surviving artifacts from the Age of Gods. (For the future) ### Age of Mortals #### Decline of the Age of the Gods With Nihility banished, the First Apostles were celebrated within their own races. However, with each of the Apostles being considered deities now, their existence follow the faith that their believers believe in. One case is the deification of Solara. Though she does not majorly differ from her original personality, her demeanor and mannerisms dramatically shifted from a rough tomboy to an elegant warrior Queen. For 100 odd years after the Banishment, new divinities have come alive. (Feel free to add your own divinity if oyu want) #### War of the Gods ##### Established Events: - Cold Iron discovered under Mt. Sirius, Dwarves and Gnomes find a - Assassination of Acraquox (Duchess) Lystra GrandBottom of Clan Ruby (Metamorphic Rock) - Divine Summit was called - Elven and Leshy stands firm in their decision of telling th dwarves to stop mining Cold Iron from Mt. Sirius - Dwarven side refuses as Cold Iron has become essential for their civilization progress. Counter points to the death of Acraquox GrandBottom. - Humans are trying to remedy the situation(failed) - War between Elves and Dwarves is declared. Leshies, being tiedly allied with the Elves join - ### Legends and Traditions #### The Duality of the Nameless The followers of Misericordia and Talion are often at odds, enforcing the often contradictory laws of compassion and retaliation. Legend has it that disciples of both happened across a sinner at the same time. Without any priority from the right of discovery, both disciples fell to arguing over the fate the sinner. In the presence of an apostle of Veritas, his fate was decided with a trial by combat between the two. History is silent on who the winner was, but in the years since, as a tradition, whenever followers of Misericordia and Talion meet, each side advances a champion, usually an adherent, and each deals the other a singular strike and declare honour satisfied. ## Geography and Nature - Territory continuously changes during the War - Snapshots of each major milestone of the war show the state of Eldoria #### Cold Iron A newly found material under Mt. Sirius and has the property to be shaped without heat. How it works is still being researched Cold iron is discovered to have the ability to sap and store magic. Mined cold iron has spent centuries underground absorbing ambient magic, so its properties are reduced to absorbing only on touch, and only from entities deeply steeped in magic like fey or fiends. ##### Cold Forging Using a process long known but not understood by smiths, cold iron can be forged without the presence of heat. With modern research, it is seen that this process temporarily moves the stored magic in cold iron out of phase with the metal, rendering it pliable. Cold iron in its most basic form is almost liquid, with stored magic in its structure allowing it to behave like a solid. ##### Depleted Cold Iron The dwarves have developed a process to pull concentrated magical energy out of cold iron to power devices, reducing it to its basic liquid state, which is called depleted cold iron. Depleted cold iron, unlike mined cold iron, has little to no stored magic, and draws in large amounts of magic to itself. This absorption is so strong that it can be felt as a malaise akin to exhaustion by even entities with low magic, and extends far beyond the physical boundaries of the metal. Lead in particular has shown to be effective in containing this absorption radius. ### Early War ### End of War ## Movers and Shakers ### Solaran Kingdom #### Political Structure - Matriachal Theocrachy - Central Political - Basically the British and Italians #### Key Figures - Queen Solara The Divine, First of Her Name, Hero of Realm, Protector of Humanity, The Bright Lady, Angel of Makkairy, Lady of Salvation, Sword of The Cradle, Daughter of Tarrasque, Light in the Dark, Queen of Queens. ### The MotherLode - Kaiser Carl Diamant of House Diamond The Unbreakable - Basically the German ### Elven Alliance - Council ### Wanderers' Troops - Orcs and Goblins are basically Asians --------------------------------------------------------- # FUTURE CONTENT FOR ELDORIA (PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE YET) ## Geography & Nature To be added with drawing. ## Movers and Shakers ### Kingdom of Luminara #### Political Structure - Matriachal Monarchy #### Culture - Think Medieval European Monarchy with mostly being inspired by the Roman Catholic Church. - Head of State is also the head of Church. #### Food - Think Potatoes, Bacon, chicken, but rarely any spice, only herbs. #### Style and Inspiration - Medieval Europe with kings, queens, dukes, duchess, peasants. #### Key Figures - Current Queen: Queen Redica of House Yvonne, First of Her Name, Sovereign Ruler of Luminara, Guardian of the Faith, Protector of the Realm, Matron of Doves - Current King: King Wendell of House Yvonne, Hero of the Battle of Jing Yue Pass. - Round Table Council: Ministers ### The Elven Dominion #### Political Structure - Council-based head of States (That's why nothing has changed in the past century lmao) #### Culture - Hunter and Gatherer based, all naturale. #### Food ### The Sultanate of Sahralia ### The Dwarven Strongholds ### The Free City of Arcanum ### The Wildlands ### The Moonlit Isles ### The Pirate Coalition
