# Security Rework: Workplace Culture Center Replaces the brig cells and permabrig with the Workplace Culture Center, a points-based employee rehabilitation program to educate crewmembers in good workplace conduct aboard the station. Expands on the Gulag concept in a corporate/HR themed training center, removing the biggest problem with the brig, players closing the game until their sentence is done. ## PenalPoints ™ Instead of being in the Workplace Culture Center for a fixed length of time, all crewmembers in the WCC will have a set PenalPoints ™ threshold to reach. PenalPoints ™ can be gained via performing Workplace Training Opportunities in the WCC as described below. You also gain PenalPoints ™ over time up to at maximum 75% of your threshold. The remaining 25% of your threshold must be met by performing Workplace Training Opportunities. PenalPoints ™ can also be spent at vending machines in the WCC for food, drinks, and items to entertain the crewmember such as cards and cigarettes. ## "Point systems are bad and game-y" This is a point system for the purposes of critiquing and mocking corporate/HR policies and employee discipline methods via forced training sessions. This is not a traditional points system. I will not be entertaining arguments regarding this. ## "What if I want to permabrig someone?" You can put people in with an infinite PenalPoints ™ goal. They will be unable to get out of the Workplace Culture Center in any method other than breaking out or a Pardon, but will still be able to perform Workplace Training Opportunities to gain PenalPoints ™ ## "How does visiting work?" Security can just walk into the Workplace Culture Center. Non-Security employees can walk up to and use a Visitation Panel that beams them into the Workplace Culture Center with a visitor nametag ID card, and the ability to set what person they're visiting. Visitors who participate in Workplace Training Opportunities will have their PenalPoints ™ gain go towards whoever they tagged themselves as visiting. Visitors are only able to bring in food items automatically, anything else would need to be manually passed through Security employees. The Visitation Panel can also be used to pay for PenalPoints ™ for the crewmembers inside the WCC. # Workplace Training Opportunities ## Pardon The Warden, Captain, and Head of Security can Pardon crewmembers in the WCC, immediately granting them 100% of the PenalPoints ™ needed for their release. Any credits spent via the Have Money Workplace Training Opportunity will be refunded directly to the crewmember's bank account if this method is used, and this can be done even after a crewmember has been released. ### Pros * Allows people who were brigged unfairly to be released and refunded any spent credits. ### Cons * People might pardon their friends. ## Bail Crewmembers outside the Workplace Culture Center can pay credits at the Visitation Panel to give their friends in the WCC PenalPoints ™. It pays to have friends on the outside! Wardens can deny bail on crewmembers in the WCC via a toggle from the WCC console in their office. ### Pros * Provides incentive to have friends with money/get * Lets your friends buy your way out of the consequences of your actions ### Cons * Lets your friends buy your way out of the consequences of your actions * Might make the briefcase of cash a meta pick ## Ship Deconstruction Use back-mounted laser cutters to rip apart ships and collect PenalPoints ™. Ships are tractored in and generated on the fly in a state of randomized disrepair, may come with some cargo not fully removed for possible prison contraband inbound sources. Replaces the Gulag and Gulag Teleporter. ### Pros * Deals with the gulag for ArcaneMusic's mining rework * Provides opportunity to distribute contraband to prisoners * Fun, engaging feedback that directly pays out PenalPoints ™ as everyone likes firing big ass lasers at shit. ### Cons * Needs enough ship parts to not be too repetitive ## Virtual Work Simulations Hop in the VR pods and get to work in engaging, mentally challenging workplace domains to ensure you're ready to re-enter Nanotrasen's workforce as soon as you're out! Successful completion of domains rewards PenalPoints ™ based on the domain, with opportunities for bonus points inside the domains. Examples of choosable virtual domains include: * Sorting Mail * Uphill Boulder Pushing * Teleporter Maze Mapping * Mathematic Circuit Debugging * After-Hours Pizzeria Guarding * Crime Scene Janitorial Work And many more! ### Pros * Allows us to cram more tasks and goofier penalty scenarios and rewards in using the Bitrunning system ### Cons * People are probably going to do this one over the others because it's bitrunning and people love bitrunning ## Floor Polishing Beam yourself into a department on the station with a trash bag and one of those long trash pick up things glued to your hands, legcuffs applied, and glued-to-you shoes that automatically polish floor tiles you walk on. Attempting to leave the department will beam you back to the WCC. Polished floor tiles impart a slight speed boost for people walking on them ala bluespace floors, but nowhere near as intense. If anyone else beamed in with you, they're tethered to eachother and to you in a chain, and cannot move more than 2 tiles away from whoever they're tethered to. At any time, you can return to the WCC. Ways to get PenalPoints during this incliude: * Moving objects from the floor to tables, racks, and lockers * Picking up trash and putting it in your Trash Bag * Polishing floors by walking over them ### Pros * Cleans up the station and provides speed benefits for crewmembers * Trains crewmembers in janitorial work * Provides opportunity for people to reverse pickpocket contraband onto the prisoner that beams back with them ### Cons * Station might be too clean to make many points, but you can bail out at any time. ## Hamster Wheel Station running low on power? Need a workout? Try running in the Wheel for a few minutes, getting some PenalPoints ™, getting in your workout, and providing the station with power at a rate of 1 PenalPoint to 10 watts! ### Pros * Additional option for prisoners to work out with the fitness system * Provides incentive to smuggle in stimulants to move faster to generate more power and more points ### Cons * Technically an additional method of power generation, crew access may need to be restricted to ensure they can't just build a bunch of hamster wheels with monkeys on conveyor belts or something in the galaxy's worst animal rights violation of an engine. ## Resource Production License plate printing and growing crops in the permabrig have been retrofit for the PenalPoints ™ system, and now include a dropbox that burns the license plates into Cargo credits and deposits crops into the Chef's smartfridge, with PenalPoints ™ granted for anything turned in. ### Pros * Ensures existing features are not removed, as the Prisoner Garden is an escape method and for some reason some people enjoy making License Plates. ### Cons * Boring.
