# Help for Canceling a Money Transfer Refund ## Canceling a money transfer ## How do I cancel a money transfer? **There are several ways to cancel a money transfer:** * If you sent money online or in our app from the United States, sign in to your MoneyGram online profile and look for the transfer in your Transaction History. You can cancel it on the Transaction Details page. * If you sent the transaction to an agent location, you can cancel it online here or by using our self-service portal and selecting 'Cancel a transfer'. You can also return to the same agent location * Please note that transfers cannot be canceled if the recipient has already collected the funds or deposited funds into your account. ## How can I get a refund? To get a refund, you will need to cancel your transfer. There are two ways to cancel a transfer: * If you sent money online or in our app, sign in to your MoneyGram online profile and look for the transfer in your Transaction History. You can cancel it on the Transaction Details page. * If you sent the transaction to an agent location in the United States, you can cancel it online here or by using our self-service portal and selecting 'Cancel a transfer'. For cancellations made more than 1 hour and up to 180 days after payment, you will be refunded only the shipping amount, not including fees. If you need to make a small change to your recipient's name in order for you to collect your money, you can do so online here or by using our self-service portal in the US and selecting 'Edit a Transfer'. If you need to make a different edit to your transfer, you will need to cancel it for a refund and start a new one. ## How long will it take to receive my refund for a canceled transfer? * If you cancel the money transfer online or by phone, MoneyGram will transmit the credit to the card issuer within 10 business days, but it may take longer for the funds to appear on your credit/debit card or bank account. * If you cancel the money transfer at the agent location in the United States where you sent the money transfer, you will receive a cash refund. * Transactions cannot be canceled or refunded if the funds have been collected by the recipient or have already been deposited into the recipient's account.
