## Report: Discussion with the Vice-Rector Research on the Topic of Evaluating Research Performance
> [name= Anne Gärtner]
Anne had a meeting with Vice-Rector Research Prof. Dr. Angela Rösen-Wolff discussing evaluation of research performance in appointments for professorships, also with a regard on Open Science practices. The topic was generally received with interest and there was more openness towards the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (read here on [DORA](https://sfdora.org/read/read-the-declaration-deutsch/)). Meeting attendees discussed how Open Science practices and interests can be advanced at the University and how OSIP can be actively involved in this process.

## OSIP Award
> [name= Anja Kräplin]
For the OSIP Award 2023 there were three applications which will all receive an award: Christoph Scheffel and Josephine Zerna for their project [„Need for Cognition is associated with a preference for higher task load in effort discounting”](nature.com/articles/s41598-023-44349-3) which is a rigorous implementation of Open Science practices in every step of a Registered Report; Malin Hildebrandt for her project ["Disentangling Substance Use and Disorder"](https://osf.io/cwnrg/) for addressing open science challenges, error culture and transparency in MRI research; and Kristina Herzog for mediation, outreach and implementation of Open Science practices in her own research and supervision in multiple projects (https://osf.io/5ugpe/ and https://osf.io/7xr6z/). All three projects demonstrate a great effort to implement Open Science practices in the best possible way, congratulations to the researchers! The awards will be officially presented at the next Faculty Council meeting.

## Social Media Presence
> [name= Gundula Thiele, Franziska Korb]
Meeting attendees discussed the online presence of the OSIP. In general our social media platforms have not been used very much to date. The cancellation of the X account and the creation of a new Instagram account were discussed. Franziska and Gundula will prepare a concept proposal for an Instagram channel that will be discussed in the next meeting.

## Planning of an 'OSIP Retreat'
The idea of an OSIP (day) retreat generally met with great interest. However, there is currently little capacity for the organisation, Christoph and Ulrike considered getting involved in this in March.

The next OSIP meeting is sheduled for January 17 at 2:30 pm. The link to will be sent out via the mailing list about one week before the meeting. All OSIPs are welcome to propose topics.
