Gardens GG23 Community Round

Ideas

  • Create a $GTC community so $GTC holders decide where funding goes. Pool ideas:
  • "$GTC contributor onboarding" - get $GTC to people who are likely to use it to govern the growth of Gitcoin.
  • "best communities on Gardens" - a classic, more competitive pool where Gardens communities rally $GTC support to get funding.
  • "most promising new Ethereum OSS" also competitive, but targeted grants for new projects to not overlap with retro funding. Considerations: how to make ecosystem-wide pools that are less competitive and more collaborative? don't want to overlap with retro funding. leverage bottom-up governance.
  • Seasonal Funding model a la Pop-up Commons: https://www.notion.so/1hive-gardens/Case-Study-Pop-up-Commons-Conviction-Voting-for-Seasonal-Ecosystem-Funding-183d6929d0148086b20bfa27f27214e5
  • Direct rewards for Gardens growth. Use Gardens participation metrics (members, transactions, TVL) to reward the most successful communities on Gardens.
  • Chapter Based Orgs: funding for orgs like Greenpill, RefiDAO, OpenCivics, Zuzalu - encourage them to
  • MVP seed funding - Funding Pool to request shared liquidity for your token

Funding Pools:

  • "Matching Funds for your Funding Pool" - a Funding Pool where communities can request matching funding for funding pools they build in Gardens communities.
  • Allo Integrations - request funding to integrate your Allo mechanism to Gardens.

Signaling Pools:

  • "Best OSS on Ethereum" - curated list of best projects on Ethereum
  • Ecosystem priorities: identify most underserved public goods in web3, then pool identifying most promising fixes for that priority.
  • Regens of Web3 - curated registry of the most valuable regens in the space
