# Mery Rail Standard
The following document describes the building and organizational standard used for the underground rail lines built by the Mehri Folk.

## OneDest
All Mehri rails are fully compatible with OneDest routing. Note: The rails, particularly the long lines, can be used without OneDest and are logically organized indepently of them.
## Lines
The Mehri hopes to reduce the number of direct rails to a minimum, instead relying on long rail lines that span large distances and hook multiple locations together. This choice is based on the principle that reducing the number of individual lines helps improve the maintanability, quality and future expansibility of rail networks.
All individual lines are identified by a specific block color-coding, branches and hookups to those lines are always identified by Polished Andesite blocks.
### Current Lines:
* **Copper Line** - North-South line, currently helps connect Mehri to Danzilona, with branches to various Mehri stations, MTA and CivMarket.

## Layout
Mehri Rails aim to be high-quality and standardized:
* `y = 15 | y = 35`, relatively surface position makes it easier to integrate with overland rails and horse access
* `32 Rails + 3 Powered rails` - easy to count, groups of 3 make it so you can quickly get up to speed in the middle of a rail
* `All rails are placed on top of stone reinforced cobble`
* `All rails are powered from bellow` - There should be no exposed levers or torches
* `Tunnels are 3x3 with 2 high paths on either side` - latter is used for placing public ice roads and decorative banners that announce when you cross a nation's border
* `Walls of plain stone, does not need be reinforced` - Should be easy and quick to build
* `Color Coding` - Mehri lines are identified by a specific block in between each powered rail
* `Mob Proof` - Mehri rails are lit by lanterns hanging from the ceiling, there should be no block where mobs may spawn.
* `Horse Acess` - Mehri rails should always be fully usable by horses, there should never be any obstruction in the lines that makes their movement impossible
* `Chest Cart Compatible` - Chest Carts should be able to travel the full extenct of the line without getting pulled out of the line by junctions, some sort of stations that stop the travel of chest carts may exist (design not yet determined).
