3.0 Targets

Blender 3.0 targets as defined at the end of the workshop.

Color tags:

  • green: Target for 3.0.
  • orange: Want-have but not must-have for 3.0.
  • red: Not a 3.0 target.
  • Milestone 1, finished and polished
  • Placement tool
  • Catalogs
    • Catalogs
    • Dynamic Catalogs
  • Linking
  • Pose Libraries
  • Asset Bundles (standard library, blender.org bundle)
    • Standard library - keep it simple for now. Blend file that comes with the install, asset library is hardcoded.
    • blender.org bundle, separate library for now. Not a must-have but really good to have.
  • Add-menus can be extended with assets
    Standard library assets can be added by hardcoding the menus to include them. A more automatic way could be added but is not a 3.0 target.
  • Simple online repository browsing
  • Deduplication.
  • Asset view for data-block selectors
  • Brushes and brush workflow
    • Implementing the proper design breaks the current toolbar.
  • General presets (like render settings presets, tool-presets/brushes).
  • Non-Blender assets.

To be determined:

  • Asset pushing (adding assets to external libraries).
  • Mass-editing of tags
    • Add/remove tags from selected assets
    • This should not unify all tags of all selected assets (i.e. untouched tags should really be untouched)
