# Cardano node diversity workshop #2 *Building the core node elements together* ## Purpose of the workshop Our main idea for this workshop is to bring every node implementer together and keep the dynamic going from the last node diversity workshop. The Amaru team wants to bring everyone up to speed on what we are fiddling with, and hopefully start solving together all the things that will be useful to anyone building a Cardano node. ## Content & Agenda ### Mindset **Day 1** will be hands-on: coding, hacking, tweaking setups, running simulations, breaking things... so bring your laptop with you and have a working environment ready. **Day 2** will keep the activities of day 1 going for those who want to, and will also focus on showcasing the progress of each node implementation; focusing on the bigger picture of working together towards node diversity. ### When & Where - When: Monday 22 September & Tuesday 23 September 2025 - Where: Toulouse, France - Venue: [Hotel Mercure Centre Compans](https://g.co/kgs/S2zkeFL) - Accommodation will be in the same hotel ### Current agenda (up for discussion) - Sunday 21 September: Arrivals, nothing planned - Monday 22 September: Simulations, testing, getting dirty inside the code - 9am (plenary for an hour): Showcase of "how to run the Antithesis environment" and what currently works with it - Morning: Split into groups and run, play, tweak the setup - Afternoon: Problem solving, adjusting to specificities of each implementation of the nodes - End of the day: Setup a customized environment for getting results on day 2 of other nodes > These activities will be mostly in-person, we will arrange a call at the end of the day to share the feedback and results of the experiences that happened - Monday night: Restaurant with every participants (location to be confirmed) - Tuesday 23 September: Looking forward and anticipating what's next - Nodes progress and Q&A - Cardano Node core protocol facilitation: Lessons learned from Ethereum and building the future Cardano setup *(Tim beiko) – To be confirmed* - Cardano Blueprint: Showcase of things existing and identifying next steps (Sebastian) - Antithesis recap: Results, problems and things to look forward to (David Searle/Arnaud) > NB: Most of the sessions will be broadcasted as we will welcome inputs from people that can't be there with us in the beautiful city of Toulouse ### What do you get out of it Everyone who will be there will have hands on experience on being able to test, simulate and run batteries of scenarios with the setup that was co-created with Antithesis. If you're building a node or contributing to building a node, you will have a way of building a robust test environment that fits with the constraints that the node will have to handle. The main idea for this is that we will have the problem solving power to start pretty much any solution that fits with each of the nodes use cases that are currently being built. For people that aren't able to attend, we will document the outcomes of the sessions organised and make available the resources we used to work during those two days. ### Logistics & What's sponsored Depending on the outcome of the [treasury withdrawal](https://adastat.net/governances/60ed6ab43c840ff888a8af30a1ed27b41e9f4a91a89822b2b63d1bfc52aeec4500) ongoing (that hopefully will pass by the time this workshop happpens). Amaru's budget might be able to cover for the accommodation of each participant listed below who confirms their participation by the 17th of July. The 3 nights that could be covered: Sunday 22nd September, Monday 23rd September, Tuesday 24th September. Regardless of the treasury withdrawal's outcome, catering (lunch and dinners) on Monday and Tuesday will be covered for all participants. As for the travel, we'll leave it up to you to organise yourself and be there to anything that you deem interesting on Monday/Tuesday ## Who is part of the workshop For the hands on workshops on day 1 we thought about a group size of around 25, which ideally includes many users of a potential conformance test suite, developers of node implementations, power users and integrators - mostly engineers! For the activities on day 2 everyone is welcome to join us. :::info The invitations were sent on July 7th now and below you can see the list of people who we want attending to contribute to what we have planned, we will keep the invitations open until the 17th of July, if you want to add people to our mix please email [Damien](mailto:damien.czapla@openthelead.com) ::: ### People invited to the in-person meetings | Name | Notes | RSVP | |---------------------------|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|:-----| | Alex Sierkov | `TurboCardano`, node implementor | ✅ | | Alexander Nemish | `Lantr`, node implementor | ✅ | | Alexey Kuleshevich | `Haskell node`, node implementor | 👍 | | Andre Knispel | `Haskell node`, formal methods on ledger specs | ✅ | | Arnaud Bailly | `Amaru`, node implementor | ✅ | | Brian Bush | `Haskell node`, leios R&D | ✅ | | Chris Gianelloni | `Dingo`, node implementor | ✅ | | Christos Palaskas | `Midnight node?` lead partner chains | 👎 | | Clark Alesna | `RAZOR`, node implementor | ✅ | | Damien Czapla | `Amaru`, product manager | ✅ | | David Searle | `Antithesis`, problem solver | ✅ | | Eric Dinh | `Antithesis`, problem solver | ✅ | | Eric Torreborre | `Amaru`, node implementor | ✅ | | Giorgio Zinetti | `Haskell Node`, problem solver | ✅ | | Hari Amoor | `Gerolamo`, node implementor | ✅ | | Javier Sagredo | `Haskell node`, node implementor | ✅ | | Julien Eluard | `Amaru`, node implementor | ✅ | | Jordan Millar | `Haskell node`, devops & product manager | ✅ | | Josh Marchand | `Amaru`, node implementor | 👎 | | Jean-Philippe Raynaud | `Mithril`, implementor | 👍 | | Karl Knutsson | `Haskell node`, node implementor | ✅ | | Livio Klopp | `Haskell node`, haskell node infrastructure | ✅ | | Luis Marcano | `Antithesis`, problem solver | ✅ | | Marcin Szamotulski | `Haskell node`, node implementor | ✅ | | Marcin Wójtowicz | `Haskell node`, node implementor | ✅ | | Markus Gufler | `Haskell node`, SPO | ✅ | | Martin Kourim | `Haskell node`, end-to-end testing | ✅ | | Matthias Benkort | `Amaru`, node implementor | ✅ | | Michael Karg | `Haskell node`, performance & tracing | 👎 | | Michele Nuzzi | `Gerolamo`, node implementor | ✅ | | Nicolas Di Prima | `Jormungandr node`, node implementor | 👎 | | Nicolas Frisby | `Haskell node`, node implementor and leios R&D | 👍 | | Oleksii Khodakivskyi | `Lantr`, node implementor | 👍 | | Paul Clark | `Acropolis`, node implementor | ✅ | | Paolo Veronelli | `Haskell node`, node implementor | ✅ | | Pascal Grange | `Amaru`, node implementor | ✅ | | Pi Lanningham | `Amaru`, node implementor and Leios | 👎 | | Polina Vinogradova | `Haskell node`, formal method and research | ? | | Ramsay Taylor | `Haskell node`, formal methods on ledger specs | 👍 | | Roland Kuhn | `Amaru`, node implementor | ✅ | | Sam Leathers | `Haskell node`, devops & product manager | 👎 | | Santiago Carmuega | `Amaru` & `Dolos`, node implementor | 👎 | | Sebastian Nagel | `Haskell node` & `Cardano Blueprint` | ✅ | | Stevan Andjelkovic | `Amaru`, node implementor | 👎 | | Vincent Hanquez | `Jormungandr`, node implementor | 👎 | > ✅ Booked > 👍 Confirm interest in attending > 👋 Not sure yet, but considering > 👎 Cannot attend > ?
