## COWStories (COW, Media and Stories)
This document is to help design the github repositories for developing software and for discussion of the processes involved.
[TOC]
===
## Overview
Janastu and [APC CN peers](https://www.apc.org/en/community-networks-learning-grant-initiatives), along with their [APC Catalytic Intervention projects](https://www.apc.org/en/35436), will be co-developing the software for these projects.
COW is a term used to indicate the desire for a Community Owned Wifi-mesh.
Deployment wise, we have two independent activities. 1. Design, development and deployment of the wifi-mesh, and 2. Software tools and applications that help discover, annotate, navigate, curate and renarrate stories.
1. Visit wiki.janastu.org/wiki/DiMA
2. A peek at our [history of work](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wS9JoWcTcaRIyvIM3WzV886ZPy7pgpPZ3RqxJON9hgc)
3. Janastu on Github [github.com/janastu](https://github.com/janastu)
4. GitHub repos design is the intent here
5. Appendix can include a FAQ and links to related development to watch general reading
DiMa User story
---
```audio annotation=
Feature: Suggest a visual
# The first example has two steps
Scenario: A group listening together
Someone plays an audio
Then the listeners discuss visuals for the audio
# The second example has three steps
Scenario: Those with photo archives open them
The audio is paused when a picture is suggested
Pictures from individual collections are selected
And some of them are dragged to annotate the audio at that point
```
> We choose team work with a projector and speaker so everyone gets to participate.
```subtitling and para phrasing=
Feature: Video story making
Audio is playing. Time markers of interest are identified/labeled.
Items are added at those markers
Items can be tags, para phrase text, subtitles, photos or short videos.
Scenario: User adds item at a marker
A user is identified (could be by a tag user:<name>)
Screen displays markers on audio
One can click "Add item at a marker"
When an item is added, bucket content is displayed
A screen layout and conflict in layout is indicated
And one can edit the items (size, duration) and save/repeat
```
We need to put together our development activity related to
tools for storytelling needs in a decentralized context.
> See demo of a player here: http://gk.maaya.test.openrun.net
> When audio is played, associated photos and text narratives are displayed
COW user story
---
```sequence
Varsha->COW: Hello Varsha here, anyone here?
Ramya->Varsha: Welcome, would you like to subscribe to our services
Varsha->Ramya: Thanks, here are my services
COW-->all: Update captive dashboard
Note left of Varsha: Varsha acknowledges and updates dashboard
Client->Varsha: Where have you been?
Varsha->Client: Thanks, I have been at sheepfair.rss
```
We have a working document which needs to be part of the github repo
http://j.mp/cowplansaux and http://j.mp/cowplans - a discussion followup post dwebcamp.
