When adding syntax we should aim for the rustfmt which ships with the same version of rustc to not fail on the new syntax. [libs-impl](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues?q=is%3Aall+label%3Abeta-nominated+-label%3Abeta-accepted+label%3Alibs-impl) - No beta nominations for `libs-impl` this time. The issue below regressed in the same PR - "[ICE] Encountered errors resolving bounds after type-checking" [rust#77653](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/77653) - Assigned to @**Matthew Jasper** - Nightly regression - Opened by @**lzutao** to highlight comment from issue above  [rust#77638](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/77638#issuecomment-704892157) - "ICE: Projection bound ... was applicable to ... but now is not" [rust#77656](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/77656) - Opened by @**Tavian Barnes** - Nightly regression that impacts code in a crate - Bisected to commit [08e2d46](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/commit/08e2d4616613716362b4b49980ff303f2b9ae654), merged in [rust#73905](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/73905) [libs-impl](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Aopen+label%3AP-critical+label%3Alibs-impl) - No `P-critical` issues for `libs-impl` this time. [T-rustdoc](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Aopen+label%3AP-critical+label%3AT-rustdoc) - No `P-critical` issues for `T-rustdoc` this time. ### P-high regressions [P-high beta regressions](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Aopen+label%3Aregression-from-stable-to-beta+label%3AP-high) - "Build hang on Linux with nightly and beta toolchains" [rust#76980](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/76980) - Unassigned - Build hangs on beta - @**Eric Huss** bisected it to [rust#73526](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/73526) - @**cuviper** [is not aware of any LLVM 11 issue like that ](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/76980#issuecomment-695805807) - A [possible work-around was added](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/77642) by @**Pietro Albini** but it doesn't seem to be confirmation if works or not. - [@**cuviper** believes that the work-around is not the whole story about this issue](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/76980#issuecomment-705244990) [Unassigned P-high nightly regressions](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Aopen+label%3Aregression-from-stable-to-nightly+label%3AP-high+no%3Aassignee) - No unassigned `P-high` nightly regressions this time. ## Performance logs A quiet week. One rather large regression on a synthetic benchmark and a few small improvements. [#77023](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/77023) is an interesting case. It encoded an invariant about slice lengths as an `assume` intrinsic inside `len` function. It seems to have caused a small compile-time slowdown, but there was no improvement in `check` build performance (a proxy for generated code quality). In fact, the LLVM documentation [specifically advises against](https://llvm.org/docs/LangRef.html#llvm-assume-intrinsic) overuse of the `assume` intrinsic in cases where the invariant is unlikely to be of much help to the optimizer. That seems to be the case here. Triage done by **@ecstaticmorse**.
