## Search and Screening
For searching the papers we used the site https://www.scopus.com/ and retrieved a total of **151** papers using the above search string.
### Screening process per paper
1. Read the title and abstract and evaluate if it is fitting to the topic of our paper
2. Check if the full version of the paper is publicly available and not behind a paywall
3. Check the language and the length of the paper (must be in English and >= 5 pages)
4. Read the introduction and conclusion of the paper
We split up the search such that one student screens the papers with an even index, whereas the other one screens the odd ones.
Both Students select five papers and add them to the list below.
## Inclusion and Exclusion criteria
**Inclusion criteria:**
* Related to software modernization/maintenance/evolution
* Related to small or medium-sized enterprises
**Exclusion criteria:**
* Paper is not written in English
* Secondary studies
* Papers with less than five pages
