## What is Contributor Summit
The Ansible Contributor Summit is a full day working session especially for community contributors to interact with one another, as well as with Ansible development teams. We will discuss important issues affecting the Ansible contributor community to help shape the future of Ansible, with a focus on improving collaboration with our contributors.
### Why
- This is a great opportunity for interested people to meet, discuss related topics, share their stories and opinions, get the latest important updates and just to hang out together.
- There will be different announcements & presentations by Community, Core, Cloud, Network, and other teams.
- Current contributors will be happy to share their stories and experiences with newcomers.
### Who should attend
- If you are one of the many community members, Red Hatters, partners, and more contributing to the open source Ansible project and ecosystem
- Contribution areas can include (but not limited to) being a maintainer, collection author, reviewer/tester, documentation, meetup organizer/speaker, fixing bugs, creating content, teaching/supporting Ansible users
- If you have already been contributing or participating in our previous Contributor Summits
- If you are new to contributing to Ansible but will like to learn how to get more involved

## How do I attend
### Online
1. Register on [Eventbrite](https://ansiblecs202210.eventbrite.com/?aff=hackmd).
2. Get a Matrix account. [Matrix.org](https://app.element.io/#/register) is the largest host, but many communities have servers you can register on (e.g. [Fedora](https://chat.fedoraproject.org/#/welcome), [Mozilla](https://chat.mozilla.org/), etc.)
3. Log into your account - we suggest using [Element](https://app.element.io/) (though [other Matrix clients are available](https://hackmd.io/@ansible-community/community-matrix-faq#What-client-should-I-use))
4. Join the [Ansible Social Room](https://matrix.to/#/#social:ansible.com) (#social:ansible.com) anytime before or during the event, say hi.
5. During the main sessions, join the [Main Conference Room](https://matrix.to/#/#summit:ansible.com) (#summit:ansible.com) to participate in the discussions.
6. During the breakout sessions, join the following rooms:
* [AWX Breakout](https://matrix.to/#/#breakout1:ansible.im) (#breakout1:ansible.im)
* [Content Breakout](https://matrix.to/#/#breakout2:ansible.im) (#breakout2:ansible.im)
* [Developer Experience Breakout](https://matrix.to/#/#breakout3:ansible.im) (#breakout3:ansible.im)
* [Explore Breakout](https://matrix.to/#/#breakout4:ansible.im) (#breakout4:ansible.im)
See the [Ansible Matrix FAQ](https://hackmd.io/@ansible-community/community-matrix-faq) for more detail on how to use Matrix.
#### IRC alternative
> We recommend Matrix - this information is provided for those who prefer IRC
- Connect to Libera.chat
- Join the chat in `#ansible-social`, `#ansible-conf`, `#ansible-breakout1`, `#ansible-breakout2` etc.
- Watch the presentations on YouTube: https://youtu.be/DCf_e6XRsCw
