FreeBSD DevSummit 201905 Testing/CI Working Group

Current objectives:

  • Improve stability and availability of the CI system
  • Hardware Lab

Issues identified:

  • Flakey tests (~10), may be able to identify those by scripts, could utilize a better web interface (or a list)
  • Deal with difference between flakey tests and areas of code we break often. Code we break often should have a related commits to fix issues.
  • Improve Tinderbox view to include more build info
  • Scripts to detect race conditions etc.

Questions raised:

Ideas / requests:

  • Pre-commit tests
  • Central tool/platform just for data collection
  • Create test cases for reported bugs, documentation for developers to easily create tests
  • Expected results?
