TUTORIAL: How to Bundle a Holochain hApp & Install in Holoscape

## Setup

At the time of writing this walkthrough [Holoscape v0.0.3-alpha](https://github.com/holochain/holoscape/releases) was available.

1. Download Holoscape. [Holoscape v0.0.3-alpha](https://github.com/holochain/holoscape/releases) (available on mac or linux). Holoscape is an Electron App that connects to other peers also running holochain.
2. Unzip your downloaded file and run through the install process.

Starting Holoscape for the first time

During initlization of Holoscape it has to create a config file and in that config file it needs to record which network you would like to Holoscape to connect to.

The options are:
- sim1h - (simple explation here)
- sim2h - Central switchboard for peers to discover each other.
- lib3h - (simple explanation here)
- memory - (simple explanation here)

For the purposes of this tutorial we will be using sim2h becuase it enables agents to validate each other with real holochain code. This is possible once agents setup peer to peer websocket connections.

When holochain goes live, agents will discover each other via the peer to peer gossip protocol. However the discovery gossip network is not yet active. This is where the temporary sim2h network type comes in.

For the time being Sim2h have a centralised discovery web service which kind of acts like a switchboard at sim2h.holochain.org:9000

1. Upon first start, set network type to sim2h in the Network Type Dropdown. This will point your conductor to Sim2h Switch-Board URL wss://sim2h.holochain.org:9000 The [Conductor](https://developer.holochain.org/docs/glossary/#conductor) is the is the service that hosts all of a prticipants DNA instances, storing data and connecting them to other peers in the network.
2. Holoscape will now initialise and you will notice a system tray icon in your desktop.

To keep this tutorial simple we will package the [Hello Hollo Tutorial](https://developer.holochain.org/docs/tutorials/coreconcepts/hello_holo/), or clone [this done for your repisitory](https://github.com/tommycp3/cc_tuts).

If you already have a hApp DNA file then please move onto preparing your UI.

Preparing your hApp UI

Preparing your hApp Bundle file

Holoscape needs a bundle file to instlal. The bundle file is a toml file that tells holoscape where to find the hApp DNA file and hApp UI

1. Create a new file in the root of your hApp called bundle.toml and make it:
1. Reference the hash of your hApp DNA
2. Point to the hApp DNA file
3. Point to the GUI zipped file
