## About Black Sky
As an emerging DAO, Black Sky hopes to include sub-DAOs or collectives to have leadership over different projects or initiatives. At this time, there are four major projects within the network: Black Sky Nexus, Events, Artist Residency, and a Space Mission. Below you will find additional information on the Events and Artists Residency. More details about Black Sky’s initiatives and ambitions can also be found on the [Black Sky website](https://www.blacksky.network/).
### Events
Black Sky currently organizes virtual events in the metaverse that are centered around sharing knowledge, catalyzing ideas, and experiencing the arts. The events allow a place for people in the Black Sky Network to come together and enjoy intellectually stimulating content that generates community discourse. [The first event](https://www.blacksky.network/events/00000001) took place on 02-02-2022. In the future, Black Sky plans to organize in-person events around the world with the aim of continuing to provide new avenues for like-minded people to interact and be exposed to thought-provoking material.
### Artist Residency
Black Sky thinks it’s important for artists to play a role in seeing beyond the scope of traditional methods of societal advancement. Crypto spaces are known to be predominantly male. Black Sky is promoting balance and inclusivity by getting more women involved in the community by initially prioritizing female artists who are looking to expand their horizons and experiment with cryptocurrency. Artists accepted into the residency program are expected to be interested in Black Sky’s mission of minimizing dystopia. Black Sky's first artist in residence is [Sun Deep](https://material.blacksky.network/sundeeps-multidimensional-world-and-the-black-sky-residency/), also known as Nuspeed and Cryborg, a multidimensional digital and language artist.
