# Sprint 3 - May 5, 2018

## What we did:

1. We reviewed the winning solution: In & Out Entry.
2. Zach went to a nearby center to speak with the representatives, he conducted a short interview which can be found [here](https://hackmd.io/s/BkOVjtsTM#)
3. After discussing the pros and cons, we sat down and discussed the necessities and nice to haves.
4. We brainstormed questions to ask shelter staff to better understand where we could fit in.

## In & Out Entry

#### Pros
- Already have staff at the door, human side of ecosystem
- One door for entry*
- Usually just one entrance according to interview
Staff already have access to mobile phones*

#### Cons
- Will solution fail if there is more than one door?
- Will guests be diligent in using system? What to gain? stealing?
- What happens when the staff member goes off their shift? (guests who stepped out)

## What do we need?
1. Database
2. Notebook for prototyping
3. Dependent on diligence
4. Tracking for people coming back
5. Cooperation of staff
6. Feedback from staff

+ Do you use your cellphone often during work? What do you think about using a phone-based tool to track headcounts/availabilities?
+ How are staff trained now? How might we increase staff engagement while making the workload/onboarding process easier?

+ Are all beds equivalent? Do we need to connect a specific guest to a specific bed/cot/resource?
- are there differet tiers of bed quality?

- Is this intuitive?

## Next steps:
1. Consolidate all questions to ask at shelters
2. Interview multiple receptionists/check-in staff
3. Talk to person who manages policy and training
