# Onboarding Guide
Hello to you Sanboxer! Welcome to the OWS guild. This platform aims to encourage participation and collaboration on different activities in the NEAR Ecosystem.
The mission of Sandbox narrows down to providing the necessary guidance for everyone who wishes to deploy their talents for the benefit of the NEAR ecosystem. All kinds of talents are appreciated here: the main purpose is to create value that will accelerate the development of the ecosystem. This is truly an inclusive community for everyone who is passionate about innovation.
🌏
So, where should you start?
---
## Join OWS as a Community
Within the NEAR ecosystem, we classify communities as either projects (DApps) building on top of NEAR, or Guilds (organisations).
If you already have a project or guild working in the NEAR ecosystem, have a look at this section to see how we can help. We will do what we can to achieve your goals.
### Get Support as a Community

#### **Outsource Opportunities**
Get work done for your community by letting us find the right people for you tasks. See example of this in section `List of Guilds and Projects Opportunities`. Fill out our [:link:**Project Opportunity Form**](https://airtable.com/shrwaPB7BgZTDnfn9).
#### **Funding**
OWS offers funding opportunities for communities. We can cover up to $1500 USD for assistance to your project. This means that if you need a job done we will outsource an appropriate candidate and financially cover all costs.
#### **Promote your community**
Request to join us for one of our weekly AMAs where we highlight and take audience questions about OWS communities. Fill out our [:link:**AMA Guest Speaker Form**](https://airtable.com/shrwaPB7BgZTDnfn9) and we will get in contact with you.

# Payment Request Guide
(Go back to the old format for next month)
Dear Sandboxers and NEARians,
As of December 2021 all rewards for your contributions will be paid out through the OWS AstroDAO. This change is entirely in line with the core values of the NEAR Ecosystem: transparency and decentralised governance.
:::info
⚠️ The **due date** for the `Make Payment Request` form is the 25th of each month. If you submit your form after 25th, it will be reviewed during the next payout period.
:::
#### `Step 1`
Follow the steps in the `Make Payment Request` form and submit the form before the 25th of the month.
#### `Step 2`
Between the 25th and the 1st (of the following month), your submission will be reviewed by OWS off-chain. The results will be automated into an on-chain proposal on the OWS AstroDAO.
#### `Step 3`
You will receive a notification from the OWS AstroDAO requesting you to vote on the on-chain proposal for your payment. The payment amount will be justified in the proposal found on the DAO, and feebdack will be given where needed.
If you vote `yes`, then the payment will be finalised (through a vote) by the OWS AstroDAO council members, and the payment directly forwarded to your NEAR wallet. Congratulations, you are done!
If you vote `no`, then you will appeal the proposal and have the chance to contact us to discuss or clarify any misunderstandings.
==This is just to visualise a timeline for the payent instructions. It will help decrease the learning curve and confusion. This one sucks, yes, but we can make one on Figma later on.==
