    • 21st Jan 11.30 IST we will have meeting regarding release-8 content discussion - Calendar Request Sent
    • Maintainers are requested to review proposals and possible release 8 content in light of available time and work required to provide an end-to-end tested (as feasible) feature/fix
    • Need builders on latest Fedora (Deepshikha indicates this would be feasible)

  • GlusterFS-8.0 (March 18th, 2020) - <Open for discussion> - Plan for Fedora 31/RHEL8.2
  • GlusterFS-9.0 (August 1st, 2020) Reflink, io_uring, and similar improvements.

  • Geo Replication - working on a bug which leading to data loss, glusterfind issues (python 2 to python3) looking into testing improvements.
  • Glusterd - planing on a RFE. will give exact answer by next meeting
  • thin-arbiter - Amar: thin arbiter has to be ready by release-8. 1) Add vol id field in thin arbiter itself, need ack from AFR devs 2) take clusterid in all the volumes
    Ravi, thin arbiter is light weight, we can run it one per trusted storage pool?
    Amar, it would be easier to have one process so it will be easier for users.

    Amar feels this is good to have for release-8.

  • Who will host next meeting?
    • Host will need to send out the agenda 24hr - 12hrs in advance to mailing list, and also make sure to send the meeting minutes.
    • Host will need to reach out to one user at least who can talk about their usecase, their experience, and their needs.
    • Host needs to send meeting minutes as PR to http://github.com/gluster/community
    • Host has to send the meeting minutes as a mail to the gluster-devel and gluster-users list.

efforts by Kadalu team: a distributed testing framework https://kadalu.io/rfcs/0002-test-framework-binnacle.html Can be used for gluster as well
Release-8 is being looked into by Amar. Needs a track for the good health of any product. Gluster -8 by march end.
giving 15+ days more it should be made available in April
Focus on things we already know. so it will help with gluster10.
people need to step forward with what can be delivered in next 2 months

21st Jan 11:30am ist, a meeting with other zone people to confirm the target for gluster 8. Contributors have to decide on what they can deliver before this.
Potential candidates:
1)Structured logging is being worked on.
2)More of python2 to 3 issues are also being worked.
3)being debug friendly.
Update to fedora 31 releases by 21st

Kadalu is interested in monitoring. might look into a webinar

Rinku, a video to explain gluster with container will be more helpful

Aravinda, move to long term release cycle. so we will have lesser versions to maintain.
Amar, May be do it after release 8. We will have to start a mail thread and discuss this out for the next coming release.
