# Retroactive Thank you to Volunteers at Token Engineering Barcamp (EthCC Paris 2023)

In April 2023, we asked the community for donations to support the first-ever Token Engineering Barcamp event. [With the funds collected in April](https://explorer.gitcoin.co/#/round/1/0x9e669c0a6e075f14ba9d9d98c3580ad67e20ec38/0x9e669c0a6e075f14ba9d9d98c3580ad67e20ec38-19), and additional sponsorships, TE Academy was able to cover all expenses to make the Barcamp happen. Thank you to everyone who supported us!

The first-ever Token Engineering Barcamp took place in Paris on July 22nd. 🙂
- 17 speakers, and 15 talks,
- more than 8 hours of program,
- 3 stages in parallel
- 500+ registrations so many new connections, collaborations and friendships made!

**The Barcamp was hosted as a public good.
It was a free event, accessible for anyone interested in Token Engineering.
This current grant is to send a thank you to a total number of 18 volunteers and 4 organizer team contributors who dedicated their time and energy - without asking for any special compensation.**

**Volunteers**:
The French community, led by StephaneSG.eth worked tirelessly since April with the TE Academy team to make the event happen. Eighteen community volunteers helped to prepare the space, supported throughout the day and [captured links and further readings](https://www.notion.so/te-academy/84c64c1b91a545019795cf8556635f2c?v=72df983a743542b29552515b7e1fad3d) for those who have not been able to attend the live event.

**Contributors**:
In addition, TE Academy’s Kaidlyne, Pati and Nate (TE Commons) were running night shifts to get all information out in time - and Angela pulled all strings to make sure we have awesome speakers and sponsors on board.

**Let’s reward them with this grant!
All funds collected will be 100% distributed to the Barcamp team:**

- 60% to the volunteer leading the organizer team: Stephane
- 30% to the volunteers: 0xAkina, Jules, Sylvain, Wal, Marina, Ajey, Tomas, Mario, Alexandre, Andy, Tatiana, Tiago, Rohan, Jesus, Max, Pascal, and Jimmy
- 10% to the contributors in the organizer team: Angela, Kaidlyne, Nate, Pati

If we collect more $2K in value, we’ll send the rest to a multisig wallet and reserve for future community events.
Send 10% of what you’d be willing to pay for such an event, make the Barcamp Paris team happy - and encourage volunteers at future Barcamps to bring community events to life!
