## 8/22 PBL Day1

### The progress we made today
1. Discuess code mind map
2. Prototype design of the grab mechanism ( The first generation )
3. Assemble the chassis of the car and motor functions.
4. Test the ultrasonic sensor ( HR-SR04 )
5. Learn about color recognition ( Pixy2 )

The progress today is assemble the chassis of the car and motor functions.

### Program
To understand what kind of code we have to write to finish the challenge, our team dicuess to each other.Then, we draw a mind map as below.

Testing the ultrasonic sensor.
Later, We will use its ranging function to write an automatic obstacle avoidance function.

Learn about color recognition.
This is the focus of this challenge, as we have to clip the red ball to score, so the color recognition function is especially important.

## 8/23 PBL day2

### The progress we made today
1. Obtain pixy 2 color recognition parameters
2. Prototype of the first generation of ball grabbing institutions
3. Testing ultrasonic avoidance
4. Bought alkaline batteries and aattery box :money_with_wings: $191

### Car assembly
Using corrugated board, tape and servo motors, a simple version of the ultrasonic gimbal is made.

### Program
Exhance mind map and reguest japanese friends to compile the obstacle avoidance function.

### Problem

:warning:**Suddenly, the avoidance function is broken.**
:::

We follow the SOP to troubleshooting.
* Re-examine wires
* Re-examine the code
* Re-examine Arduino electronic parts

In the end, it was found that the voltage of the batteries were not enough. Therefore, we replace the batteries with new ones and add a battery box to cover up electicity usage.

## 8/24 PBL day 3

### The progress we made today
1. Go shopping in Jin Hua electronic. Buy step motor, Adjustable regulated power strip ( uln2003 ) and servo motor :money_with_wings: $515
2. Disassemble the car body to replace the motor and reassemble it.
3. Test ultrasonic avoidance and color track on computer.
4. Redesign ball catcher. ( The second generation )

### Car assembly
Because color tracking function need more precise spinning angle and spped, we changed our motor into step motor and add adjustable regulated power strip.

### Program
Request Japanese friends to write the ball catcher code and adjust the color recognition range.

### Problem

:warning: **It was found that our catching mechanism hindered ultrasonic sensor and pixy2's color recognition!**

:warning: **Because of the increase weight of the car, the original motors can no longer carry its movement !**

1. Bought wheels and alkaline batteries :money_with_wings: $ 418
2. Pixy2 software (PixyMon) is used to calculate the position of the red ball relative to the camera, and the numerical range of the motion correction is reversed.

### The progress we made today
1. Make a container for collect red ball
2. Make a engine room for Arduino electronic parts
3. Modify the ball catcher
4. Corrected differences in the program from the actual assembly

We made a cube with corrugated board for arduino electronic parts.

:warning: We have'nt thought about the trail what we plan to walk.

We re-adjusted the wiring layout in the engine room so that important signal lines were not disturbed by power lines.

We changed the rear wheels to sleds in the hope of overcoming this challenge by increasing the ground-touching area.
