# Detailed guide on attending the Node.js collaboration summit in person

## Before arrival

- The reception will not be open until **8:30**. During **8:30 - 10:30** we'll have breakfast and hallway track, the planned sessions will start at 10:30. We'll have the meeting area until **18:00**.
- The temperature over the week is 5-15C but it's very sunny this week. The meeting room gets a lot of sun so **it can get hot during the day**, so dress accordingly.
- The **entrace** is at the intersection between Rue de Châteaudun and Rue Laffitte ([Google map street view](https://maps.app.goo.gl/RoGUh47QykEQrDFR9)). The gate is at the corner. You'll need to push the button that says "ACCUEIL" on your left to ring the bell to get in.
- After you enter the building, go to the **reception** on the first floor and give them the name you used in the registration. They should bring you to the 6th floor, where the Datadog office reception is. You'll enter your name on a pad to get a sticker as your badge.
- On the 6th floor there is a cafeteria where you can get **coffee and breakfast**, and a place with a lot of tables where you might meet other attendees and wait for a Datadog employee to fetch you to the 7th floor, where the meeting room, _Provence_, is.

## In the office

- Use the **Wifi** with SSID `Datadog-Guest`, there is no password.
- We will distribute the **T-shirts** in the meeting room.
- There's refreshment outside the meeting room on the 7th floor. **Do not eat in the meeting room** (that'll attract rats). The meeting room is next to the terrace which is also available to us to have some fresh air. **Do not smoke or vape on the terrace,** there's a different dedicated area for smoking.
- The **bathroom** is right outside the meeting room. We need to stay in the meeting area available to us on the 7th floor. If you need to go somewhere else, you'll need to find a Datadog employee to escort you (we'll have 3 on the spot).
- There are power strips in the room.
- We'll have **lunch at 12:00-13:30 in the cafeteria on the 6th floor**. After lunch we'll go back to the 7th floor for the sessions.

## Participating in the sessions

- Folks on site should **join the Zoom call (but muted)** in order to raise their hands in the same queue where the remote participants are also in.
- We'll use the microphone in the ceiling for the recording. There will be something (maybe a bottle) in the room that's meant to be a replacement for the hand-held microphone. The idea is that people in the room who want to speak should use Zoom to raise their hand first, and when it’s their turn, they’ll get the thing passed to them to speak. Remote participants join the same queue via Zoom, so they get an equal chance to participate.
