# PoA.JaM (Also agenda for W4P-DA meeting)
* webinar pi demo
* kolibri demo
* further activities planning
* tech / apps learning workshops
* cant finish all tech training in theoretical way
* how else to deliver, hence kolibri
* voice journal activities, to promote listening as much as seeing a photograph
* record sound scapes of their house, neighborhood, their favourite place
* clarity on engagement model
## challenges
* we cant conduct tech training similar to medha's approch, we need to breakout into very small groups of 2-3 girls to engage with.
* we need inspire them to use technology, rather than just introduce it to them
* tech shud be about their context, hopefully from that we can understand them better
* we need to promote them to listen to their communities and their needs, but how?
## problems faced during session
1. as girls are first time smart phone users, they needed more time to learn any application.
2. Medha mentors want to move on with thier content so they feel like girls will explore the app by themselves, so we kind of had to give half instructions on inshot app, we need to make them understand that these are not theoretical topics to just introduce and move on... we have to give time on each App to get most out of it from girls
> [name=Geeta Mahalingapur]this has been discussed with Jayant on 2nd oct, we have decided to get 3 days of this week for janastu. if not enough we have an option to use Friday's half session additionally.
3. sharing of time slot on each session between janastu and Medha
> [name=Geeta Mahalingapur] we (Medha, janastu) have decided to plan session slots sharing on weekly basis. we are already following it. we need to have discussion on next week planning by this Wednesday
4. Medha wants to spoon feed everything to girls and wants to have desired output from each session or learning or App. ex: after introducing inshot, the homework given was to "express your experience with Medha/swaarambh in this learning journey".... which instead had to be "story telling sort of thing about the girls, their village or atleast the freedom to speak on anything they want to"
5. Girls were not logging in with laptop
> [name=Geeta Mahalingapur]this we are going to experiment this week
6. few girls are shy to put their audio/voice while making inshot app
> [name=Geeta Mahalingapur]gradually everyone is trying it out once we make a folder after introducing syncthing, all these homework videos will appear at a place so we can have a look
7. shortage of time to have interactive session to explore the App together (girls and us). As they are 18 to 20 girls.
8. it was too controlling on how should mentors teach, thought process behind it was - we will loose girls' focus or interest on session if we don't follow a particular patern
> [name=Geeta Mahalingapur]we have conducted session with no patern yesterday (5th oct) , it all went very well, we could see all girls were enjoying and actively participated in session
9. Girls follow/obey all the instructions given by Medha mentors as they have made a good bonding with them.... we might need some more time to gain their (girls') trust and make bonding
> [name=Geeta Mahalingapur]we are already doing good progress in it. we are building a good rapo with them.
## observations/suggestions
1. we might have to encourage them to share their own stories through the technology we are introducing rather than expecting focused outcome. we need to give them that freedom of selecting own content to speak about. "now we expect it to be listening model rather than instructive model"
2. we should encourage them to set up meetings on google meet among themselves or we might have to see is there any opportunity to have meeting with small group of girls (on roatational basis) to effectively explore apps (along with regilar session at 12 noon)
3. we need to encourage girls to use laptops to login to meetings, may be having google meet on the laptops and try out new apps which we introduce on mobile so it will be two way learning and interactive session
> [name=Geeta Mahalingapur] Madha agreed to it, this we are going to experiment Wednesday
4. ask them to share their screen and explain something from their machine/phone
> [name=Geeta Mahalingapur]this is done. we did it in yesterday's (5 Oct) session with mobile. girls liked it and they also wanted to learn how to o create new meeting by themselves.
i had a seperate call with one of the girls and asked her to share her screen and show internal storage of her mobile. going forward we can randomly select another girl and ask her to set a new meeting and ask a doubt or ask her to explain/show something from her phone
