Onboarding is a pain for community managers. You pour your life and soul into newcomers, asking the same questions over and over again and when they lose interest or can't find what they were looking for, all your work is lost.

And remember joining your first server? You were welcomed with a firehose - a million Discord channels, no pathways and hard-to-find documentation.

Many users drop off becuase joining a community has too much friction:

  • where do they even start?
  • what are they supposed to do?
  • who are they supposed to talk to?

When you start on Discord server with Tavern Keeper, you are welcomed by a Discord bot, an NPC who gives you an onboarding pathway created by the community, for the community - choose your own adventure style.

Tavern Keeper uses customisable conversational flows to:

  1. Guide users through pathways using quests, created by community managers
  2. Mint them a community NFT profile that reflects their contributions to the community.

Quests

Tavern Keeper meets contributors at the front door, as soon as they arrive on Discord and sends them a welcome message.

The user converses with the bot, progressing one message at a time, like they are in a video game speaking with a character.

Tavern keeper offers different pathways for different kinds of users. Just how as you progress through quests in a game, and more of the map is revealed: access to server channels, documentation and roles open up slowly, rather flooding new users with channels

The flows can be used to create interactive documentation, choose your own adventure stories and quizzes to vet newcomers.

All of these quests are customisable by community managers

Community management

By interacting with Tavern Keeper NPCs, the user is minted their own NFT community profile, which reflects their contributions to the community.

Their NFT displays their community roles, quests completion, achievements and uses counters to track their contribution to the community (e.g. # of Snapshot proposals submitted)

Community NFTs are completely customizable, enabling culturally significant art, achivements and counters, so users know what communities deem to be valuable.

These NFTs interact with Discord, and can enable channel access and assign roles.

When you meet others players, you can see from your NFT profiles what each others reputation and achievements.

Monetization

Potential revenue streams include:

  • Charging the user or community on mint
  • Could be a profit share for the community - user pays $10 to mint and community gets $5
  • Monthly SaaS Fee based on community size
  • Customizable NFT Marketplace - think of custom skins in fortnite

Financial projections are in the pipeline.
