Welcome to Playground

Come play with your community members at Playground! Playground is an open-source, permissionless Activity-to-Earn platform that incentivizes impactful activities among the communities

What is Playground?

Playground is a Dapp that DAOs can host activities and convert them into purchasable impact NFTs with metrics. It bridges between on-chain digital records and real-world impact. DAOs can support sustainable funding for their operations through the sale of Impact NFTs in Playground.

Key aspects:

  • DAO-managed impact funding
  • On-chain activities-to-earn dApp

Why play at Playground?

  • Incentivization: Address the lack of incentives by rewarding community participation and impactful activities.
  • Measurable Impact: Provides on-chain statistics for activities, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Engagement: Offers both local and online communities a platform to engage in impactful activities.
  • Plurality: Features a wide range of activities like a course on DAOs and NFTs and a hiking quest in SoCal

Glossary

  • Passport

Passport is a ticket to participate in Playground. It is an SVG ERC721 NFT that retrieves and displays progress of activities onchain. Here is an example of a passport. Users must hold a passport in order to go on quests in Playground.

The next iteration of the smart contracts, however, will introduce permissionless Playground participation, allowing any NFT to take on quests in Playground. Users may still opt to use Passport if they have no ERC721 NFTs available.

  • Impact NFT

Impact NFTs display impact in form of data-driven metrics that Impact Setters wish to surface from completing a Mission.

  • Mission

A series of Tasks with objective, measurable, and impactful results.

  • Quest

A User's interaction with a Mission. Users interaction with a Mission will generate data (e.g., start and completion data) around performing the activities as laid out in the Mission.

  • Task

An activity to do. For example, a hiking trail, a meditation session, an event participation.

  • Review

Review involves a process to verify the completion of a Task. If review is required, Reviewers must be set and Reviewers will review tasks to ensure completion before progress is updated.

  • XP

A unit of reward for completing a Task as defined by DAO. In the testing phase, all rewards are DAO tokens, however, the next iteration will enable ERC20 tokens as rewards.
