CabinDAO's mission is to build a "network city" of co-living neighborhoods.
CabinDAO is creating a network of co-living neighborhoods. They provide people with the option to live on land with like-minded people and the flexibilty to move between neighborhoods. They currently have 3 communities in their network — one in Texas and two in California with plans for more.
They are growing with help from their referral program: refer a neighborhood, resident or podcast guest and you'll receive the CABIN token, which allows participation in CabinDAO governance.

Notes:
It touches so many parts of peoples lives. What we've seen is - not just covid pandemic - there's a loneliness pandemic. We think living in community & coliving is an amazing vehicle for connection. If we start with the truth that we're happiest surrounded by people, you're a product of the people you surround yourself with, how do we create spaces around that?
Focused a lot on retreats and residencies, people come for the week/month but return to their every day life & rhythms - some people maybe looking to reset or get away - how can we make longer term community, immersed in lifestyle while being immersed in nature. Let's be in nature but lets be in community at the same time (with strong wifi).
Financial systems & how we bring it to life.
Real estate. - propoerty owners.
Material selection
Social/Cultural aspect - what makes for a great dinner party.
How do you set culture, what's the right balance of people living full time vs coming for a month or 3-6 months.
Create this self sufficent ground-up culture in these places.
Conversations around permaculture & food systems, water management. We're building this network - need to think of resource management, proximity to airports.
We have 3 communities.

TLDR:
What is your DAO’s mission or purpose?
Mission: To build a network city. A network of real estate properties people can live at and move between. Grounded with living with community, rethinking how housing is done. Deliver more affordable housing products & more self-sufficient communities that can operate independently.
How does your DAO governance work?
We have a token called CABIN. It's a governance token. We use Snapshot for votes - we use quadratic voting & multichoice voting.
https://snapshot.org/#/cabindao.eth
Proposals channel, drafts channel, governance proposal channel. Recently passed a proposal about a token threshold - 1000 cabin to propose & also we approved you can delegate tokens now.
How do I get 1000 cabin? Best way is through community referral program refer a neighborhood, resident or podcast guest. We've completed 2 treasury diversifications - brought in strategic partners or stakeholders. Earned through bounties, or gifted. https://creators.mirror.xyz/543FnlfQkXgCX_2Kh9X5UsohkjzDgvS6B0-6Dl0jEZI
BOUNTIES - quest model. Groups can form a fellowship and propose a quest. If DAO approves quest, they get budget allocated. Example: Podcast. Team wanted a new season, put together a proposal w/funding. DAO approved it. Quest is a bottom up budgeting process. Key objectives and key results.
How do you manage your treasury?
Do you use Gnosis or Optimism chain? If so how?
John Hillis - may know about Gnosis safe.
Do you use DAOhaus or Moloch? If so how?
Does your DAO have lore?
What are the vibes?
Do you know another DAO we might feature?
Krause Haus or Kift.
Can we (DAOhaus) keep your contact info for DAO to DAO purposes?

Where we're at
Coliving pass. A reframing of Cabin - first year we were bounty first, all kinds of contributors contributing. It's hard to get great work done with so many contirbutors. Focused on a smaller team - reframe the DAO not as a network of online creators.
The DAO is the network of neighborhoods. It has a community, coliving residents, caretakers & property owners, and service provider. We're a coliving organization.

We have 3 communities. "Neighborhoods" Cabin is building a network city - that city is comprised of these Neighborhoods.
We're growing, doing pilots, build week in Puerto Rico. Pilots with different folks get a feel for if it's a good fit for them and us.
Neighborhood 0 - John Hillis' place. Lets focus on execution of this one.
