Miro

Miro is an online whiteboarding tool. You can create a free account with a maximum of three boards (older boards become read only if you make more than three). An account allows unlimited boards, but the cost is per team member, so it can become pricey if you are hosting sessions with a lot of people.

To get around this we've used throwaway email accounts on our domain to create a new free account when we need three new boards.

You can invite as many people as you like (we've had up to about 20) to contribute to a board at once.

We've used Miro since the COVID-19 pandemic began as a tool to host remote workshops. It has useful templates for different purposes but we tend to build our own exercises tailored to our group.

It's great for getting ideas down, theming, mind-mapping and has loads of useful design features such as importing webpages, wireframe templates and image upload.

This is not a new discovery for us in this project but definitely worth mentioning as a useful tool for those who haven't encountered it.
