## OCF Civic IoT Webinar
I am Sam Robbins from the Open Culture Foundation (OCF), a non-profit based in Taiwan devoted to promoting civic engagement, civic technology and open source solutions. OCF has recently begun working on a project to install Taiwanese environmental sensors abroad and we are looking for partner organisations for this work. We have been in contact with APC to find potential collaborators for this project. We would like to invite you to our webinar on September 9th to learn more about environmental sensor technology, OCF, and our project. Our webinar will introduce our Taiwanese partners and the technology systems we are working with and we hope it will allow you to consider the impact such technology might have for your community. We will host two webinars at 07:00 and 14:00 UTC September 9th. Please attend whichever of the two sessions is most convenient for you.

OCF plans to work with local communities to install either air boxes or water boxes, or a mixture of the two. These sensors will be able to produce real-time data regarding water and air quality, which we hope can empower local communities to better monitor the changing environment and become more aware of environmental risk. OCF will provide the sensors to the local community and will rely on the community to undertake the installation of such sensors.
Due to the limited funding OCF has for this project, we will hope to work with a maximum of three communities. OCF is open to working with any community that is interested, and will determine with whom we will collaborate based on feasibility of installation and maintenance of the sensors; the experience of partners with sensor technology; and the potential impact such sensors may have if installed. As well as learning more about our project at the webinar, we also hope to learn more about your community and your work to determine whether we would be able to collaborate with each other.
Before the webinar, we encourage you to fill out our short questionnaire attached below. The questionnaire consists of two sections. The first seeks to understand the environmental challenges your organization is facing and how they are dealt with, the second seeks to understand your current experiences with environmental sensing technology. The aim of this questionnaire is to help us understand how and whether environmental sensors could aid you in your work in your local communities.
