# CherryPick🍒 conference v0.1 beta

## Why this event?

At some point last year we realized that many of our friends have been in the blockchain space for a long time but don’t really know each other, nor are they aware of what others are building.

This means we’re often stuck playing middlemen between people that could and should collaborate and help each other grow. The Balkan crypto scene is pretty fragmented, but there’s an unusual share of builders from the region running, working or contributing to top-level protocols, projects and ideas. It’s time to come together.

We soon realized how powerful it could be to gather all these exceptional people in the Middle of Nowhere, Serbia for a few days and have them share their experiences, argue about the industry and expand their networks. We hope this would help build bonds between existing projects/talent in the region, and let them be a part of something bigger.

One of the main challenges of large conferences is too many people and quick-fire talks. Our idea is to narrow in on a small group of degens that want to spend 3 days together, talk all things crypto, share war stories, and just vibe with other blockchain nerds.
Our first POC was organized in the summer of 2022 with a group of 20 builders from projects like Tenderly, Polygon, Near, Starkware, Thales, Tempus etc. The feedback we received from those attending pushed us to try to make another event - only bigger. This time, we’re inviting 30-50 people.

## Concept

Since we know you’re all super busy, we want to make these few days run as smoothly as possible for everyone + maximize knowledge sharing and productive discussion. Expect that your day(s) will look something like this:

- Coworking/focus time, 3-4h per day - making sure you have at least some time to work on your project

- Sessions/unconference - we don’t want to cram too many sessions, so the idea is to do 3-4 hours of sessions/day in multiple breakout rooms (we have 3 different rooms)

- Knowledge sharing - in a setup that lets you talk freely and exchange learnings with each other. This will have more of a chill, cozy vibe, where we encourage you to get to know each other, give feedback, share ideas, shit talk Nemo etc.

Mokrin House is a coworking and coliving space located in the north of Serbia. It is an avantgarde project with a futuristic design situated in the middle of the village. It’s a modern and urban spot in rural surroundings, ideal for teams and individuals who work remotely, practice hybrid models of work, want to change the everyday routine and get creative.

## Dates & Costs

January is slow for a lot of people = best time to get together :)

**Dates: 19.01. (Thursday) until 22.01. (Sunday). 2023**

Timeline:

**19.01.** - get to the venue, make yourself comfortable, meet and greet
**20.01.** - **21.01.** - main days of event
**22.01.** - breakfast, chill and go back

**Cost per person is 150 EUR or 157 USD and covers food, accommodation and using the venue.**
