As part of the Meta Guides, we were tasked with guiding grant applicants through the Metal Cartel grant program. We used ticketbot, which did much of the above already. What it didn't do was make people answer any questions. It presented the user with a document in their channel, which they were supposed to read and follow the instructions. Quite often, people did not answer questions and had to try to chase down the person requesting the grant.
Quite often people just clicked the button and ghosted.
This resulted in a lot of time wasted.
If people were lead through answering the questions before submitting the ticket, I think it would save a lot of time, get the required info in a standardized fashion (so it can then easily be added to a spreadsheet or database later). Importantly, it will also eliminate the punch-n-ghost users.
Can we compose on top of this?
Not that I've seen exactly. I have found another bot that brought up a form but it took the user to the bots dashboard site to fill out the form and all the data was stored on that dashboard as well, so to manage the tickets, required everybody involved to use an outside website. I don't think that is the ideal solution.
I'm asking, I don't know. Comment below if you think it can be done.
I think so and I welcome any comments.
