Ancient tech that even the technological age of now can't match.| |Barren Planets|Very Close/Very Far|Dark Grey|for your casual ruin fun, literally the only thing on it aside from being a bowl for ships. Usually either has a Mercury or Pluto vibe depending entirely on proximity to the star.| |Barren-Desert Planets|Close|Red|Not quite as barren as actual barren planets, but nowhere near habitable either. Think Mars in our solar system.| |Toxic Planets|Close|Pastel Colours|Think Venus in our solar system; hellishly hot due to runaway greenhouse effect. The atmosphere can probably be harvested for higher-than-usual quantities of fun gases.| |Non-M Class Planets|Average|?|These planets' atmospheres are entirely made (or just mostly made) of extremely caustic/noxious gases such as plasma and other such gases. Due to either the causticity, temperature, or pressure, most humanoids need to don pressure or some other form of environmental protection gear to survive. Hell yeah.| |Gas Giants|(usually) Far|gas color|You technically don't land on the gas giant itself, but rather floating continents -- either natural or artificial -- which have enough centrifugal force to overcome the massive gravity of the gas giant (as well as being far enough away from the truly crushing pressures to be livable.) Falling off these continents is certain death. The pressure is still unbearably powerful, and EVA activity often requires pressure-resistant suits. Most notable for extreme xenolife and the rare research facility studying said extreme xenolife.| |Glassed Planet|?|Black|someone fucked this planet with a laser/nuke/many nukes and it is dead| |Earthlike Planet|Goldilocks Zone|Light Green|Literally just jungle planets but toned down immensely. I know it would kind of inspire people to make planetside bases, but cmon it has to happen sometimes| |Frozen Planets|Far|VERY Light Blue|Not to be confused with Tundra planets, frozen planets are 100% completely uninhabitable. The ice can be mined out for volatile elements.| |Oceanic Planets|Closeish|Blue|A planet whose surface is covered near entirely with water.| |Giant Organism|?|?|the planet is a megafauna. To kill it, shoot it until it dies.| |Von Neumann Planet|?|Grey|A planet that has been cannibalized nearly entirely by a "grey goo" end-of-the-world scenario. Landing on this is an extraordinarily bad idea.| |Brass Planet|?|brass(duh)|This planet was likely painstakingly converted over months or perhaps even years to serve as a base of operations for the Clockwork Cult.| |Runed Planet|?|really shitty desaturated red maroon looking ass|Some inane ritual was performed on the planet, transforming it into some sort of source of spiritual power for some god. Or perhaps not far enough?) ![](https://i.imgur.com/jeDc6Rc.png) --- ### Ruins Ideasguying based on planet - Ruin name - ruin description - possible planet spawns - ruin loot - ruin threats --- - Dyson Swarm Collection Centre - A massive facility used to collect power from a deployed Dyson swarm. Likely abandoned during the ICW; if the damage is minimal enough, perhaps the power generation could start up again? - Spawns dependent on proximity to the star; most likely to be found on barren planets rich in metals. - Highly sophisticated power collection and distribution equipment could be harvested here, along with power from the Dyson Swarm itself if you are able to bring the facility back to working order. The PTL-collection point itself can be harvested, although it is ungodly large and requires laborious and active calibration if one were to do something audacious, like put it on a space ship. - Automated drones still lurk the facility, running on solar power. - Abandoned Floating Continent - This floating continent makes up for a lack of raw centripetal force with powerful, specialized expulsion thrusters which compensate for losses in altitude. The station itself is powered almost solely by specialized wind turbines that extend far below the cruising altitude of the station in order to take advantage of the awesome power of the gas giant storms. This one is abandoned, but automated systems keep it afloat. - Gas giants - Rare Expulsion thrusters can be salvaged from the continent, but you will need to be fast. Disrupting the careful automated system can result in a slow, unstoppable crushing death. The salvage from the station itself varies depending on its previous purpose; you may find samples from the local fauna if it's a research station. - ??? - Ruined City - The ruins of a former civilization, now shattered and abandoned by the world around them. There are still rotting, sun-baked corpses laying out in the streets, and skeletons of buildings still standing. - Any habitable planet, but most common on Glassed planets and Cracked Planets. - Food and other miscellaneous supplies can be found here, though finding anything that isn't rotted or dysfunctional will be a challenge. - Scavengers who managed to survive whatever catastrophe tore the city apart roam the streets. ## Miscellaneous Ideasguy Themed tendrils: Icemoon lower level already has its tendril variant. We could make stuff like Syndicate automated weapons factories that pump out highly aggressive and dangerous simplemob drones (yes i stole this idea from startoad get fucked) and have different thematically appropriate loot pools. Fast-travel Tunnels and Pocket-dimension-esque rooms for things like tents and caves: Yo when do we make tunnels and small pocket-rooms. MAKE SOME SORT OF REALLY GOOD REASON FOR WHY PLANETOIDS ARE SO FUCKING SMALL!!!!!!!!!!!! (or maybe we just arn'et allowed to see all of them) Reason: Locked behind DLC. SEE THAT PLANET? YOU CAN BUY IT! (IN THE DLC FOR THE PRICE OF A REAL PLANET(which is like 5 mil))the space station with a dragon animation will become a sensation on the internet maybe have some sort of system to have multiple interesting sites on each planet to explain why we dont see all of it ## Loadout Overhaul @tiramisuapimancer oh right i was gonna do that okso like holdon fuck lemme get the og doc so i can yeah Since we don't have any jobs there's no particular IC reason to have "uniforms", and letting people pick out what kinda stuff they have encourage good RP and let you have cool flavor and stuff. sense and pride and accomplishment from chosing what kind of shit your character has. maybe we can force people to pick stuff so they look stupid if they have nothing. Pretty much LITERALLY everything beyond what is literally fucking imperative to exist with should be editable (no spawning without plasmeme gear, and Maybe you should have at least pants and shoes and whatever the captain spawns with). stuff that's considered "basic" should be free anyways, beyond limitation of what's basic for that gear (you can pick out out of all the flavor cosmetic jumpsuits for your suit slot, or you can get one of the nicer job ones, but no admin turtlenecks or whatever?) (would probably be done by having some default you fall back to if you don't pick in an essential slot, like the fuck orange plasmaman stuff, or they can choose like, plasmaslacks or whatever. ,maybe add nicer plasmaman suits that arent job related. but maybe they also just kind of have job suits. imagine being stuck with an ugly plasmaman suit for a job you arent even good at because of reasons) basic and necessary arent the same thing, we still get radios and shoes and stuff for free. extraneous fluff loadout items like plushies or whatever are their own third thing. lesser limitation on these things, expect people to be reasonable? justification for letting people have everything theyve ever wanted within reason as well as not have anything they dont want, you could be on this ship for pretty much any reason at all, really, you're your own little person character with their own stuff. nobody is supplying you with things, but you probably have stuff to let you stay alive, and pants probably too [m]: <> (ok so like, we had that plan to have ships of different factions, maybe one of the things a faction has is a uniform \(like solgov having a uniform\)\(also these factions would be rarer than the "independent ones that you can just pick whatever"\) but what I think is like, maybe they've got enforced uniform that people have to spawn with if they have a specific role because yeah) [k]: <> (so like, why not use the fuckin point system that the erp servers have, lmao) [t]: <> (okay so like a points systen would totally work really good here and what I think is we should have maybe two separate points systems, because I am about to get on to the secondary thing in my loadouts overhauling ideasguy) [m]: <> (I agree so that people spend points on flavor things and functional things seperately) FUNCTIONAL LOADOUT ITEMS!, okay, so we pretty much have a guarantee of guys spawning in as the CE to get the toolbelt, then once CE is taken they spawn as shaft miner for the knife, pen, and... well miners get a lot of shit they spawn with in their belt free. since we're yeeting roles we can also allow for more freedom in this similar system, by having a separate points count for stff you have thats FUNCTIONAL, to replace what stuff job people spawn with. stuff as potent as "a literal entire fucking CE toolbelt" maybge should be kept on hold? Also, both of thyese systems should be subject to Citadel-esque customization of existing items like renaming , redescriotioning, and applying multiplicative color over an item. also, cit not vore edition has Polychromic items which I think are interesting but I think *keeping* them being able to be changed in color mid round should be superfluous or cost more, but the point is that you can customize what colors the polychromic items spawn *with* meaning not everybody has the same fucking brand of jacket (on top of being able to say what your jacket smells like or whatever the fuck.) **ඞ**YEAHHHH**🗿** also, cheaper "random item" slots or what have you? like in both categories visualization of what the loadout looks like nopt just on you but in the inventory (may be hard i fully understanfd if this hard) (change if hat on your head or in your bag pack) integrate quirkspawned items with all of this somehow [z]: <> (ay yo shaft miner powergame gang REPRESENT) [t]: <> (CE gang tho)
