    # EFT - Experienced Scavenger Patrols - Concept ###### *By TheColonel#7169 (343835332317544451) and ViRazY#0594 (223504456476655618)* This is a concept for experienced scavenger patrols (AI) that walk around the map and are supposed to be similar to scav players in the sense that they are always moving and actively trying to find gear instead of staying at a single place. ## Backstory/Lore A group of old war veterans that have refused to evacuate the region. Having trained during past conflicts, the group are trained well in combat and survival techniques. ## Behaviour They are supposed to be somewhere between normal scavs and raiders difficulty-wise. They are pretty accurate at longer ranges and are good at moving behind and from cover to cover. They are survival experts and have enough healing items to be able to recover quickly after a fight. They will often change their position and move from target to target. While they are moving from target to target, they will change their plans based on current fights on the map. They will always spend a few minutes at the target location looting and clearing the area. Their behaviour also means they arrive a bit after a fight is over, often safely looting whatever is left. They will take a slightly longer break every now and then to chill out (food/water breaks) and watch the area. While they are taking a break, they can also be extremely talkative with eachother. Although these scavs are not hostile to other locals, they will open fire if you get in their way. ### Behaviour in patrol mode In patrol mode, the group will move to a specific spot on the map and check the area. By default, the spot is usually somewhere near a place that's worth checking out, like a bus stop, a crossing or a small building, but it can also just be a random circle in a forest. They will make use of cover and try to keep their heads low while moving to the spot, but with a decent pace and in a formation such as the "Team Wedge Formation". The next spot will be decided/calculated based on the current situation on the map but they will never change it if they are currently moving. The spot will be influenced by activity on the map such as fights but also by the distance. For example there might be 10 possible next spots and each one has "risk", "distance" and "value" parameters. Various things can influence the decision such as health (low health = prefer low risk) of the group, the past situation (just had a fight = prefer far distance) or the weather (bad weather = prefer short distance). The best spot will be a good balance between each of them. I will give an example table of the spots. The map is shoreline, the group is currently at the weather station and there has just been a big fight at the pier and smaller fights in the village and road to customs 5-10 minutes ago: | Location | Distance | Risk | Value | | - | - | - | - | | Health Resort | Medium-High | High | High | | Pier | Medium | High | High | | Power Plant | Low-Medium | Medium-High | Medium | | Radio Tower | Low-Medium | Medium | Low | | Construction near Pier | Medium | Low-Medium | Low | | Gas Station | Medium | High | Medium | | Swamp | High | Low | Low | | Cottages | High | Low-Medium | Low-Medium | | Village | High | Medium | Low-Medium | | Mine Fields | Medium-High | Medium | Low | Let's say it's sunny and the group is at full health. In that case, they will probably take the risk and check out the pier or gas station. But what if one of the teammates got hit a bit and it's foggy? Maybe then the radio tower or the village are better options. Or if it's raining, they might actually go to the health resort and say hello to the scavs there. ### Behaviour in combat mode When in combat, no matter if at a target spot or somewhere in the middle of nowhere, they will try to keep some distance and use cover. They will not rush towards the enemy, but stay in formation and shoot at it from slightly different angles. They try to keep the enemy suppressed and around 50-100 metres away from them. If one of them is injured, another one will try to protect him. They usually don't use grenades although they will use smoke grenades if they need to fall back. ### Behaviour in securing mode When they arrive at a target spot, they will clear the area and make sure they are safe. They might split up into smaller teams (2+2, for example). As always, they will make use of cover and try to keep their heads low. When they think it's relatively safe, they will look for loot and/or heal themselves and take a break. ### Behaviour in looting mode When the area is safe and they found some loot, at least one of them will protect them and watch for enemies. That person can change over time if there is a lot to loot. They will swap out gear and modify their weapons if they happen to find any mods. ## Gear They are supposed to be experienced and have a lot of random gear they spawn with and find in-raid. For example they start with a basic Adar or AKM and just put whatever mods they find on it. The weapons they carry are supposed to look very random and often ugly and used. The durability of all gear items will be low (around 40-60%). The same goes for the helmet, vest or other things. Maybe one of them has a baseball cap and another one has a badly damaged Fast MT. Or just a 3M armour vest with 58% durability and a Killa armour with just 41%. The loadout is supposed to be *very* random with low durability. They will have various barter items in their pockets and backpacks by default. They can carry multiple guns too. ### Weapon Ideas Please note that these weapons are not supposed to look appealing to the player, they are supposed to be weapons that have been "modified in-raid" from parts that they have found in Tarkov. Below you will see a random selection of weapons that arent particularly used or are barely modded to look like this: #### ADAR 2-15 .223 Carbine ![](https://i.imgur.com/whQqGrL.jpg) ##### Attachments (Vital Parts) - MK12 Low Profile Gas Block - URX 3.1 10.75" handguard for AR15 - ADAR 2-15 charging handle for AR-15 - 406mm Molot barrel for AR-15 and compatible 5.56x45 - Colt buffer tube - ADAR 2-15 wooden stock - Upper receiver ADAR 2-15 5.56x45 for 2-15 assault rifle ##### Functional & Equipment Mods - Noveske KX3 5.56x45 flash hider - X400 tactical flashlight - Eotech XPS3-0 holographic sight - HK Steel Maritime 5.56x45 STANAG 30-round magazine #### AKM 7.62x39 assault rifle ![](https://i.imgur.com/546aoXJ.jpg) ##### Attachments (Vital Parts) - AKM (6P1 Sb.1-2) gas tube - Wooden Ak-74 handguard (6P1 Sb.1-2) - Zenit RK-3 AK pistol grip ##### Functional & Equipment Mods - Spike tactical dynacomp 7.62x39 muzzle brake & compensator for AK - Tactica Tula TT01 Rearsight Weaver Adapter - Eotech XPS3-0 holographic sight - Izhmash AMK dust cover (6P1 0-1) - 30-round 7.62x39 magazine for AK-103 and compatible weapons - ME adapter for AK - Double Star Ace Socom gen.4 stock for AR-15 #### Mosin bolt-action sniper rifle ![](https://i.imgur.com/gf6rtlZ.jpg) ##### Attachments (Vital parts) - Regular 514mm Mosin carbine barrel - Sawn off regular Mosin rifle stock ##### Function & Equipment Mods - Regular 4rnd magazine for Mosin rifle - Mosin carbine Rearsight - Mosin frontsight ### Clothing More durable and survivalist style clothing would make sense. They will definitely not wear an "adik" suit or fancy boots. They will more likely have good jackets, decent boots, durable pants and gloves. They will prefer the scav backpack or medium military backpacks such as the MBSS over a transformer bag or a pilgrim tourist backpack. Face shields are not really great in the wild, so they will prefer helmets such as the LZSh, ACHHC or 6B47. It's the same thing with armour. Will they have some? Sure, but more likely something along the lines of a 6B23, 6B13 or 6B2. They like masks like the Momex, Cold Fear or Shemagh. They will pick more lightweight tactical rigs over big plate carriers. Something like the Tarzan, Triton or Haley rigs is what they prefer. They might actually use armbands.
