Wikipedia

In recent years, global discussions around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) have sparked a wide range of responses—from support to skepticism. Some public figures have questioned the direction of DEI initiatives, and debates around the role of public institutions, philanthropy, and knowledge platforms have become increasingly prominent.

Amidst this, Wikipedia and the Wikimedia movement continue to hold steady as a global, collaborative effort to make knowledge free, open, and accessible to all. Following public discussions, the Wikimedia Foundation even saw a notable increase in donations—an encouraging sign of continued public trust and engagement.

In this session, we invite you to join us in imagining and building a more inclusive knowledge ecosystem. How can we support content that highlights women, gender diversity, underrepresented communities, and minority languages? How can we ensure that everyone sees themselves reflected in the knowledge we share?

Let’s explore how open knowledge can empower people, foster understanding, and bring more voices to the global conversation—because knowledge should belong to everyone.
