Interpreted Language Guests Group

The purpose of this group is to make it easier for programming languages with non-trivial runtimes and interpreters to be compiled to Wasm.

Bring Together People & Projects

Interpreted language guest development is relevant to a wide variety of languages and projects. We will attempt to identify these projects and facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing between them.

Work on Shared Foundational Challenges

While every programming language is different, the various interpreted languages share a set of foundational challenges/issues. Working towards these shared issues can help accelerate different projects.

This may involve

  • Enumerating the shared foundational challenges,
  • Proposing general implementation patterns,
  • Coordinating work on shared tooling and infrastructure,
  • Providing feedback to the component-model design.
