board session -
The board answered the question "what are their recommendations for people running for the board? and - how can it be more diverse?""
Their responses:
1. it takes commitment and skills
2. get involved in WG and OSM first step
3. do the work
4. not glamourous, lots of logistics and admin

What have we learned or delivered this year about community, diversity and inclusion?
**-> Do you know or have you participated in any initiative to boost diversity in communities even if non-OSM? Tell us about your ideas**
**-> What obstacles/challenges do you face in pursuit of D&I?**
**-> What kind of activities do you organize in your community to be inclusive? What lessons can you highlight**
**-> What would you do with a group of new mappers to increase D&I? What about with long-time contributors?
Notes on framing the conversation:
* everyone can answer/share their opinions via voice or chat or the board: https://bit.ly/sotm2021coffee You can contribute at any moment!
* we will invite people to share lessons and successes to support community this year.
* every interaction/contribution is a gift - locally, globally, digitally and more
* we know there are great things happening to support the community of communities - let's shine the light on positive. And, if we need to name that something 'needs work', great but we will write it down and keep on
**Outcomes:**
Maybe some shared notes, recommendations, ideas, room to mention & support for LCCWG upcoming moderation work
**Background**
for the past years, we've (a group of OSMers) have hosted sessions about Community, diversity and inclusion. There was a call to action to suggest some ideas/changes. There is an OSMF sponsored LCCWG sub-committee working on moderation guidance.
