> Today is a sad day.
>
> Last night, at ^1707364980, JellySquid sent a few messages in the #dev-sodium channel of the CaffeineMC Discord which started an argument between us (myself and @xdmatthewbx^{348696829648437249}) and JellySquid. At ^1707367620, both of us were banned for (as far as we can tell) two primary reasons:
> - Our criticisms of Sodium and overall CaffeineMC management
> - Discussions that happened in private channels regarding the _possibility_ of a hard fork of Sodium. There was no evidence that we intended to move forward with a hard fork, and we explicitly stated during this argument we wanted to avoid a hard fork at all costs
>
> We believe our criticisms were fairly objective, and not deserving of a ban. We also do not take kindly to ultimatums from those who have no right to be handing them out (exact quote: "Your intention seems to be that you want to hard fork the project, and I'm not exactly going to just let you do that.").

> We didn't want to go the hard fork route (we still don't). We've been exploring every possible avenue to avoid this and figure out how to get our concerns addressed upstream in a civil manner. Unfortunately, JellySquid has made it clear that she intends to cut off all options other than either a hard fork or abandoning Embeddium. We believe abandoning Embeddium would be a disservice to the community, and as such we have no choice. Please enjoy the attached testing build of Embeddium for Fabric. It includes everything that Embeddium on Forge has (including translucency sorting) (except the Forge-specific features), plus full* FRAPI support - no Indium required!
>
> \* We haven't super thoroughly tested it yet (we have verified that the official FRAPI test mods, AE2 facades, Modern Industrialization, and Continuity Emissive Textures all work with it though). Please let us know if you find any bugs so we can fix them.
>
> Please note that compatibility with Sodium addons (such as Iris) may be limited at the moment. Our testing has indicated that the current latest versions of Sodium Extras and Reese's Sodium Options at least mostly work (we have not found any bugs at all with these, but we also haven't fully tested every feature).

> We welcome competition from Sodium. We believe this competition will make the best product for the community, and if we lose this fight it will be because the concerns we raised last night were addressed by Sodium, which is all we wanted in the first place.
