CNCF SIG rename proposal

goals
increase contributions to cncf sigs
easily ID the scope/mission/gist of the governance/how-things-work
untangle confusion with other groups of the same name with different missions and objectives

non goals
to rename this just because there is a conflict with kubernetes

Reasons why SIG might not be the best term:

• Kubernetes has SIGs and it's generally confusing with the community as they have different goals and objectives
• There isn't an ownership model; it's guiding, consulting, advising, thought leadership
• SIGs have said they have a hard time recruiting contributors - the above confusion could be a part of this

Better terms and their reasoning

in government when one role/group/body can't do all/know all/be all, appointed/other bodies are formed for specific areas of expertise

[theme] Advisory Council
examples: runtime advisory, apps advisory

[theme] Working Groups
coming together to work on initiatives under a certain topic umbrella
