--- tags: Sudden Dapp, Public Haus, DAOhaus --- # Sudden Dapp Proposal - PublicHAUS > Eth goes in. Dapps come out. ## Description Sudden Dapp is a live DAO game that puts builder teams in the spotlight as they're challenged to deliver crowd-selected dapps in 30 days. In each round, we ask the community to submit dapp ideas and PUB holders vote to select the best one. Then, we watch closely as a community-selected builder team works to bring the dapp idea to life in 30 days. Prize money is awarded on measures of completeness, reliability and usability. The process is broadcast through a stream of updates, interviews and analysis that spotlights the builder team and the DAOhaus stack. The Sudden Dapp game is played in 3 consecutive rounds. ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/BkjiO1QSh.png) ### The Process #### 1) Idea Collection The game begins with an open call for DAOhaus dapp ideas. We provide clear guidelines on what is an actionable idea that can be built in 30 days. This is a great opportunity to educate the wider community about what the DAOhaus stack is capable of, and we will provide content to help generate informed ideas. #### 2) Idea Selection The actionable dapp ideas are presented clearly in a multi-choice, token-weighted vote. We engage the community by asking them to select their favorite option from the list. Once the vote is finished, we take the idea with the highest amount of votes and write out a detailed RFP/Product Spec that we pass on to our network of community builders. #### 3) Builder Selection Once the RFP is completed, builder teams are invited to throw their hat in the ring and create proposals to build the dapp. Once again, we gather the builder team proposals and post them for another round of weighted voting. The community then decides which team will take on the 30 day challenge. #### 4) 30 Days of Dev The chosen team is "in the spotlight" for the next 30 days as they build the dapp to spec. We keep the community in the loop by following the progress of the builder team, providing updates, and live interviews. #### 5) Dapp or Die After thirty days, a panel of 3 judges will test the app live and prize money will be awarded to the selected builder team based on three metrics: 1) Does the app meet the requirements? Team wins $4,500 2) Is the app reliable and bug free? $1,500 3) Is the user experience enjoyable? Boom. Another $1,500 Selected builder teams that submit an app will also receive 1000 HAUS regardless. Builder teams will have access to the judgement criteria before they start building. ### Strengths #### Community Involvement This game is designed to engage the community directly. It creates a fun rhythm that motivates HAUS holders to stake and vote on proposals that achieve a direct, visible result. It helps DAOhaus foster a strong interconnected community of builders by providing direct support and incentives. #### Clear Path to Action Every player involved in the game knows exactly what their role is, what they need to do, and when they need to do it. PUB holders get to focus on creating actionable, onchain signal while builders focus on turning that signal into a product. Voters see the results of their votes quickly, and builders who meet the challenge are paid. #### Showmanship We aim to show off our supporter community and technology in a fun and engaging way. With a dedicated content team spotlighting the builder team's experience, we can demonstrate the power of purpose-driven DAOs and the DAOhaus stack. Regular announcements at Haus Party Live can reach our current audience and draw new people in to HPL. #### Value Maximization For this game, we challenged ourselves to address as many PublicHaus OKRs as possible. PublicHaus is a DAO with a lot of big goals and ambitions, and we believe that an energized coordination game is the best way to make them possible. This proposal addresses the following Key Results from the latest round of Public HAUS signal voting. See [**signal vote log**](https://hackmd.io/OJ2ofcp_RU6NOkS6C6UMQg) for reference. **Develop products:** KR 11.1, 11.2, 11.3 (clear case) **Public awareness:** KR 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 (sustainable if community picks revgen dapps) **Haus Party Live:** KR 6.3 (attracting new audiences, expanded vision) **Metagovernance processes:** KR 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 (key results, not objective) **Multichain:** KR 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 (if we specify dapp built on a new chain) **Grants:** KR 8.1 (gamified grant-like system) **Revgen:** KR 9.2, 9.3, 9.4 (if community picks revgen apps) **Increase adoption:** KR 10.3 (will increase adoption, but not meet most KRs) ## The Ask ### Funds Requested **Builder Prize Pool:** 3 Rounds @ $7500, 1000 HAUS = $22500, 3000 HAUS **Idea Prize Pool:** 3 Rounds @ $500, 100 HAUS = $1500 **Game Execution:** 4 months @ $5000 = $20000 **Setup:** $6000, 3000 HAUS (One time) **Total:** $50000, 6300 HAUS **PublicHAUS**: $30,000 **Other Sources**: $20,000 ### Help Requested We'll need help promoting and tapping our network to engage. ### Deliverables #### Setup: * Dapp Idea & Builder Application Templates * Dapp Idea primer: An article about what the DAOhaus stack is capable of * RFP Spec Templates * Judge elections & criteria templates * Leadup promotion (Will need help from DH) * Game Documentation/Explainer article * Calendars * Judge selection or elections (depending on # of applicants) * TCR voting setup (or other weighted token vote setup) * Hats setup for internal ops. * Content Strategy document. Creating a plan to engage people outside of the DAOhaus bubble. * Network of people to help promote #### Content Creation * Content release for upcoming proposals, open submissions for ideas, and RFPs for builders to respond to * Content release for all proposals that are live with detailed explanations of what they are for, how they work, and what the end result will be * Live weekly interviews with devs * Weekly progress report that covers both the builder teams and the concurrent governance results * Content release for finished dapps and an explainer on how they work and how people can use them * Gather feedback on tech and documentation from builder teams #### Admin * Create open submission for Dapp ideas * Editing and filtering Dapp ideas into viable, votable options for weighted voting * Release weighted voting proposals (x2 per round) * Write RFP/Product Spec for builders * Reaching out to voters directly when/if participation is low * PublicHaus champion CRM * Ensuring all content releases are on schedule * Ensuring all proposals are on schedule * Coordinating live interviews * Coordinating judges and the live 'Dapp or Die' event * Providing live support to voters for questions * Ensuring (to the best of our ability) that all governance is scheduled in advance so that it's reliable. It should have a regular rhythm to habitualize participation. ### Collabs This game has the opportunity to plug into the many initatives that are already taking place both inside and outside the DAOhaus sphere. Here a few examples: #### Partnerships & Cosponsorships Perhaps we'd like to sweeten the deal and add more funds to builder prize money or just extend this game for more rounds. It could be possible to pair up with another team or protocol for additional funding. #### Haus Party Live Using HPL for promo will bring new audiences to HPL and create content at the same time. #### SDK Docs Direct feedback from builders as well as community teams following along. Will provide clear use cases to inform doc development. #### Public Haus Docs We anticipate drawing some number of people who choose to join PublicHAUS. This gives us a chance to get feedback on our docs and educate people on our onboarding process. #### Devrel The dev teams involved and watching will need assistance from a devrel team. This provides a good reason to build 'minimum viable devrel'. #### Revenue Generation For DAOhaus to get returns and gain momentum, we require a network of useful applications and an engaged community. We were originally thinking revgen would be a good criteria for dapp ideas i.e. Every dapp idea should be revenue generating. This is open for discussion as a parameter of the game. We see some potential benefits in making revenue generation a key focus. Some of these benefits could include: tapping our community for great revgen ideas, getting funds into PublicHAUS treasury, additional incentive for builders and funding further rounds of this game. ## Appendix ### [PublicHAUS Signal Vote Results](https://hackmd.io/OJ2ofcp_RU6NOkS6C6UMQg) > Throughout this proposal we refer to the specific Key Results signaled by the PublicHAUS Signal Vote. Those results are compiled in the [PublicHAUS Signal Vote Results](https://hackmd.io/OJ2ofcp_RU6NOkS6C6UMQg) ### [FAQ: Sudden Dapp](https://hackmd.io/A1EmHUFsTky85XofjKarqA) > Q&A Format to answer obvious questions about Sudden Dapp and address potential concerns. Does a decent job explaining the process at the same time. ---
