Find out who in the R community already considers themselves an RSE. Based on that, see Kevin's webinar idea at top, exposing examples of RSE careers in R community and how those compare to RSEs in other communities like HPC

FAQ from an R user new to the term "RSE":
- Did the idea originate with the R community?
- What does an RSE do? Are there jobs with this name?
- What are the minimum qualifications for someone wanting to be an RSE?
- Is it just in universities?

The academia infrastructure in India, AFAIK is not as flexible to start a RSE position within the institute/university. It would require to go from a very long process.
If an RSE is a software developer with a good understanding of research perhaps it would be good to emphasize their role in „popularizing” research and making research more applied or „applicable” to solve real life problems.

Is an RSE some kind of a "nurse" and the scientist (author of a paper) a ''doctor"?
