# ***The /mlpol/ Collaborative Story Effort Idea: **"Equi Equis Edit" (title pending)*****

**Brass Tacks:**
* Contributors are free to add whatever they like to the story and take it in any direction they please. However, **no one is allowed to modify anything that a previous contributor has written**.
* If something in the story rustles anyone's jimmies, they are free to retcon it in their own contributions; however, everyone should bear in mind that the same rule applies to their contributions as well.
* Everything added to the story is canon, even if it makes no sense or is totally stupid.
* Writing style or level of skill is **not important (at the drafting stage)**. Anons can write in whatever format they feel most comfortable. If you prefer to write in greentext, write in greentext. If you want to write formal prose or in screenplay style or anything like that, you can do that as well. The idea here is to just ***get the story out on paper***.
* Once we've reached a point where the story feels complete, someone can **edit the text into a coherent, flowing narrative**. Glimglam will volunteer for this position if no one else wants it. No core details of the story will be changed, it will just be a matter of correcting grammar and spelling, making the writing style consistent, dividing events into chapters as needed, and generally getting the document into a format that FimFiction will accept.
* Once this is done, we can all **decide on a pseudonym** we want to use. at this point, we will ***create a FimFiction account and submit the story.***
* Optional: if any anon wants to draw/photoshop us some cover art, we can add that as well.

Here are some things for contributors to keep in mind:

* Additions to the story are on a **first-come, first-serve basis**. If you struggle with writing or write slowly, it might be better to just write a couple of paragraphs or a short scene, instead of trying to do something long and complex. Bear in mind that the longer you take to write something, the greater the odds are that the document ***will be modified by someone else while you're working***.
* This is an informal project. I will not be applying my usual critical eye to anything that anyone comes up with, and if I end up as the final editor I promise not to erase or modify anyone's contributions beyond ***what is necessary to edit them into something coherent***. However, I will add this one caveat: if I can't understand something, I ***reserve the right to make judgement calls about what you were probably trying to say***.
* The idea here is just to have fun, so no one should stress out too much about whether their contributions are well-polished. Just try to make it **coherent enough** that the next person working can figure it out.

# Chapter 1
A bright light flashes before [him/her], eyes blinking before the garishness.

As the pony adjusts the eyes, ze realises that ze's in the police station. Again.

"NAME, I believe you've become too familiar with this station." That voice, of course you recognise her, the purple unicorn with the yellow and blue highlights, always recognisable by the same way the police cap lilts from her mane. (Does she get a name? Perhaps "Officer Bowlerdash")

"Mr/Ms ANON, I believe we..."

"[sassy response]"

"Puh!" The officer seemed indignant at this response.

The grand old Kingdom of Equestria has changed since Twilight's coronation (the "Pax Crepusculum" as some would call it, though Crap-usculum might be more appropriate), which everyone seems to be hailing as a great thing now, calling it the "Era of Harmony".

Of course, everything has changed. The nation of ponies you knew had changed. Every since the "Princess" started bringing in these "New Equestrians", the town's been overrun with these creatures... and ze wasn't having it.

His home is now in Arcadia, a new planned town located within the newly formed "metro area" ever since the places between Ponyville and Canterlot started seeing a major population increase.

He's been terrorising the non-ponies since then.
And what a job he's been doing too.

"Given the great amount of infractions that you have incurred during your time with this community, I will be (sentencing?) you to ... away at the reformatory."

Wait, what? Since when was this a thing?

“You will be assigned a … during your time there, to help you, reform.”

“Additionally, I’ll also have a … from Parliament keep a close eye on you. You know, in case you try anything 'funny' during your time there.""

“Remember, [Anon]. If you … it’s the Statues for you.”
Anon gulps. He quickly realises that the wages of his antics are going to have him be petrified before the Law. The thought scares him.

"You'll leave tomorrow, so I suggest you better start packing now."

>Ride to the New Town

Anon looks outside at the scenery as it changes.
He inquires the only passenger onboard this confounded train.

[ominous premonition about what is to come]

>Anon Arrives at the School

Gets off the train.
Meets his new "friend": ["Errikos Dasos": the changeling]

"Hi, I'm [NAME] and I will be your [co-mate/syntrophe/associate/compeer] here at the Academy."

"So you're the guy they're sending from Parliament?""

"No, actually. That would be the CTO."

"The what?"

"The Correctional Treatment Officer. They'll be keeping their eye on you and making sure troublemakers like you behave during your time here at the reformatory."

"Ugh..."

"And of course, they'll be sending reports of your behavior to the Parliament."

# Chapter 2

>Anon Begins ze first day

The alarm clock by the bedside jolts to life on the bedside desk.

Begrudgingly, you put on your school uniform. It’s a cream-white dress shirt / blouse, along with a maroon sweater vest. You think it makes you look like a dork. "I wonder if it comes in other colors, he thought."

Flustered, ze shuffles into his khaki pants / dress slacks, and attempts to maroon tie.
(if female) You also get a short but modest skirt, just enough to cover half of your legs.

Lastly, you have your white socks and dress shoes.

Anon gets shown around the school by [NAME].

Anon's class begins. It goes as well as you expect.

# Chapter 3
Anon learns about the “Gangs” of the school:

The gangs, it seems, are essentially organised “cliques” within the school, and the mention of their names seem to cause terror in the eyes of students. Most notably, the gangs seem to be largely separated by ethnospecies.

At its worst, the level of violence on display has resulted in serious-case incidences and even institutional unrest. The Player may affiliate with a gang of his own choosing; but to maintain affiliation, attendance with gang meetings are required.

Anon takes the time to learn about the gangs of the school...

There was the *Pony Sisterhood*, the big pony gang within the school, though the Sisterhood isn't a mares-only group. They consisted earth ponies, pegasi and unicorn exclusively. Occasionally there may be a Crystal Pony or Saddle Arabian, but Crystal Ponies don't seem to commit such 'crimes' of these often, and Saddle Arabians often preferred to form their own smaller gangs.

>Who are the big players in each gang and what are their strengths?
>How does each gang compose itself?
>Are there gangs older than others? Bigger than others? Are there smaller gangs that pay tribute or straight avoid to bigger gangs?
>How was each gang formed?
>How do they decide who's the leader?
>What's the culture like within the gangs?
>Do some gangs have a truce? Are there gangs that has a deep hatred and rivalry with another specific gang?
>If Anons pick anonpone, are the gangs, which are segregated by race going to realistically let a pony in?
>At worst, what is the level of violence do they display? Is it 100% like Bully in that there are only slugfests? Has anyone ever gotten really hurt?

The *Ragtags*, the gang of half-ponies. Strangely enough, they appear to be a notable ally of the Pony Sisterhood, and their members are called "honoraries" by them. Relatively less troublemaking compared to other gangs, but still "problematic" in their own ways.

The Ragtags’ favourite activity is to smuggle, in which items prohibited by the school are smuggled inside the compound after collecting them from outside the town. Goods are then exchanged at the laundry bins by hiding them in the dirty linen. to be brought in and brought out with the clean ones. While a difficult task, they take pride in their ability to do so, thinking themselves as “rebel heroes”, seeing themselves as a sort of Prometheus-type peoples.

The *Stripe Squad*, the gang of zebras. They seem to communicate with each other through a form of code-switch between Ponish and a strange sort of creole.

They host gatherings known as "swaris", which are often unorganised (and therefore illegal) parties on school grounds. These swaris are often known for their dancing and a distinctly "Zebrican" mix of music, most know the ones: salsa, merengue, calypso, soca, even mento and reggae music could be heard at their parties.

The *Grandygriffs*, the gang of griffons.

The *Bloodbulls*, the gang of Minotaurs.

The *Reds*, the gang of Buffalo. As it turns out, there were more tribes of buffalo than one would expect, as the buffaloes from Equestria's northeast were culturally much different to those in Appleloosa.

*Hivespawn*, the gang of Changelings. Unsurprisingly, their hierarchy is eusocial, and such a culture is also reflected in how the gang is run.

The *Kirin Triad*, the Kirin faction of gangs.
