## About Open Collective
> Open Collective enables groups to quickly set up a collective, raise funds and manage them transparently.
From the [About page](https://opencollective.com/about):
> Meetups, open source projects, parent associations, neighborhood associations, pet projects, clubs, unions, movements, non-profits, business incubators - in order to operate, all of them are forced to use a physical glass jar, ask a sponsor to directly pay their expenses or front the huge overhead of setting up and managing a corporation or a non-profit. It’s either inefficient and opaque or it’s overkill.

## Questions
### When will you have multicurrency support?
January 2019
Multi-wallet collective
Collective has a single wallet
Open source -- USD in US, or EUR in EU
### Will you support donations in crypto?
### Who are the organizers? Why should they have special power to accept/reject invoices? Is it not the backer/sponsor who should decide on it?
### Should a collective be a legal entity in order to issue invoices?
### What kind of Software or Services will you provide exactly?
### What is the difference between "Open Collective" and usual "registered association" (or _"eingetragener Verein, e.V."_ in german law)?
### Host Setup

To receive donations -- can operate without Stripe

Github --> US Open Collective
When we started with JS community
Projects -- Symphony example -- different level of granularity
Design priority --> create collective flow
### Liability within a Collective
Community of communities
How does it work on a legal sense?
Fiscal sponsorship legislation
Holding funds on behalf of collective
because collectives can't withdraw directly
Not an MSB
That level of accountability makes it OK for us to do what we do
In Europe different -- depends on donations, services, etc.
Europe has un-incorporated association -- insurance is from that group
It's a legal entity -- or a fiscal sponsor, responsiblity of the host
If you want to do your own host
### Operations / Structure Discussion?
Slack
Discourse -- abandoned
forum.opencollective.com
### Fees
Host fee you want -- WWC add 10%
Open Collective is 5%
