# Juno Homework It's time to put together some collective thoughts for what we want to achieve moving forward. ## Mission Statement 25 words elevator pitch - Juno mission statement for the next 12 months. Where do we want to be in a year? |Name| Mission statement| |---| --- | |Jack| Juno is the embodiment of the original cosmos vision and the best example of how to use the full stack of open source tooling provided by this vibrant community. Where as other chains have been held hostage by lack of governance tooling and entrenched interests, Juno's quick shipping and community focused approach (supported by best in the world governance tooling daodao) is showing the way forward for cosmos as a whole. Juno aims to take the mantle as the true emboiment of the originial cosmos vision.| |Block|Juno is unrivalled in it's governance first approach, esuring a community-centric system whereby it's tokenomic structure aligns goals from the bottom up.

In a year we want to be known outside the cosmos for rust devs, and other users. The idea behind warpzone last year was a way to airdrop to ethereum users, which could be done with NFTs too, so they could claim from their metamask wallet and then would come asking how to use it after it’s claimed to a juno address. https://github.com/cosmoscontracts/warpzone | |Wolf| |Juno is the permission-less incubation Hub for the Interchain leveraging tooling such as DAODAO to provide independent Interchain dapps with cutting edge tooling to manage their local ecosystem. Not every dapp needs its own appchain. Instead Juno offers everything that a native network can without the need to worry about the time and resource consuming process of setting up independent security. The key differentiators for Juno are its community first approach, pursuit of decentralization (sudDAOs), active community governance of the overarching JUNO DAO, Non-VC backed network & clean status as a commodity which gives the ecosystem certainty in uncertain times. |Jake| Juno is the Incubator for the Interchain, a home for permissionless cross-chain smart contracts, and a DAO of DAOs. | |Max| Juno took no VC money and owes nobody anything.Come build on our permissionless CosmWasm chain and leverage our tooling and vibrant community.| |Dimi| Juno is the launchpad and bootstrapping platform for the Interchain. Come build your project, get access and support from our vibrant community and on a later stage run your own blockchain using Mesh Security.| |Alex| Juno is the first chain in the Interchain to have a mass-adoption dApp project that isn't a ponzi. | ## 3 Priorities What do you see as the 3 biggest priorities for Juno in the next year? i.e. what are the 3 most important steps in achieving the mission set out above. Put them in priority order, with '1' as highest priority |Priority| Jack | Block | Wolf | Jake | Max | Dimi | Alex | |---| --- | --- | --- | --- | -------- | -------- | -------- | |1| being the first chain to integrate improvements in IBC/CW/SDK/TM stack and provide those to users | ⁃ A cointelegraph and coin-desk article on junos achievements and run down on our tokenomics so the first result won’t be the whale fiasco. | | Cultivating DAOs and protocols. |More protocols, we need to build a healthy defi ecosystem which increases the demand for JUNO | CosmWasm events subscriptions. Allow smart contract to subscribe specific onchain events to automate operations. Governance gated | Shipping protocols | |2| providing the easiest way to build multichain smart contracts using juno as the base. This includes frontend | ⁃ rust tutorials on our docs so that devs who want to test the waters can build some simple dapps and see how easy it is to launch something fast. | | Mesh Security |Better documentation | [DeFi Incentives](https://commonwealth.im/juno/discussion/9697-juno-protocol-level-defi-incentives) at protocol level & [DRIP](https://hackmd.io/G3yLUNHBQouB1ITpPeGmJw) | Ensuring that we are in a position to support and retain top-tier project teams when they do appear on our radar† | |3| build the community through marketing and supporting apps building on juno | ⁃ diversify the treasury into a basket of different stable coins at the height of next bull (some formula on how much % on each price gain %. | | CosmWasm maximalism, slowly begin to move off of the Cosmos SDK in favor of custom logic being implemented in smart contracts. |Mesh Security / ICS / maybe Alliance | Mesh Security | Onboarding new devs, growing the CosmWasm developer base | ## Extra thoughts ### Dimi - We need to diversify treasury in the next bull market (+1 - Frey) - We need to continue decentralizing the project with different SubDAOs - We need better Operations and organization of the teams working with us - We need better toolings and developer onboarding materials - We need to strenghten our relationship with other important cosmos chains: Osmosis, Stargaze and others - We need more projects built by people with the most skin in the game: us. DAODAO is a great example. ### Frey - † this is complex and touches on a number of things: - diversification of treasury - funnel of developers (and, by extension, projects) - stability of Juno - reputation of Juno - access to funds/capital - status/prestige of _existing_ protocols on Juno - interop story with _existing_ protocols on Juno (e.g. DAODAO) - we should have an eye on the future of the IBCverse, which: - may not be tendermint - may not be SDK ### Max - Binance listing if somehow possible - Agree with diversification, only JUNO in our treasury broke us our neck - More projects built by people with the most skin in the game is key. Terra for example already has more dApps than we have, and a lot more in the pipeline, their employees are working fulltime on new dApps. They don't take the risk in funding others, they are building it themselves. We also need hungry dApp developers. ### Jack - Avoid maximalism of any kind, including cosmwam. this silos us and inhibits our growth. - market the things we do well in relation to the rest of the ecosystem. juno is the organic community growth for cosmos and should aim to take the narrative as THE home of the cosmos community as a whole. This is in opposition to the hub as the center of cosmos. This opportunity is decidely there. # Outcomes ## Mission statement Mission statement has been agreed. Juno is: _The Interchain DAO Hub_ ## Priorities Wording TBC on all this - a job for next call 1. Mesh security 2. Stack improvements 3. Governance/DAODAO
